My wonderful alter Ego apparently has another Warrant. Damn guy has the same exact name  as I, just different DOB. No big deal after the officers realized I wasn't the guy they were looking for. So far I've had my credit score affected, almost lost financing when I went to buy my first house, have had collection agencies harass me and Have gotten letters from the WA   dept of revenue wanting me to pay my back taxes and penalties for MY supposed Business. It all gets straigthened out in the end, but its a hassle every time I have to fix it. If he wasn't such a loser maybe I could get some ammo money outta him for my troubles
Anyone else have any troublemakers who share their name?

I have the same name as a guy that holds about 4 million in real estate in Pierce County alone. I got the discount at SportCo once because of him.

I've met four people with my first and last name. There were seven of us living in the Denver area when I was growing up. I've had both the bad and good experiences because of it. In fact, one time it helped me get job because two of us had previous work experience with the same company, and he had been a well respected salesman. Too bad I suck at selling for a profit.

My brother ran into a bit of a sticky wicket. He was attending a job interview at MICC ( McNeil Island prison). They held him for a couple hours until they found enough discrepancies in identification to determine he wasn't wanted for murder in Kansas. Oddly enough, he did get the job. I, personally, have been surprised at how many people I've run across with the same name as I.

That guy is such a loser....

The best part is, you share his name ( and your last name is not exactly common), and you live in the same county.

I've had this problem in the past. Mostly unpaid Providian Credit Card calls (uh, this guy has crappy credit, you gave him a card anyway, so you deserve not to get paid back) and a few other unpaid bills. Worst time was when someone from the Seattle Homicide Unit called.... not good.

Stumps, be nice if you could get the real estate instead.....maybe one suitable for a nice range!

There is a couple here in Washougal, same last name, and the gal's first name is the same as my wife's.  We get mail for them from the local Ford dealership, when they bought a used car, someone connected the names with our address, and we got their title, license plates, damn near everything that should go to them.  Westlie Ford seemed unable to do anything about it.

I hope someone isn't getting mail that belongs to us.

Someone got hold of my CC# and rang up about $2.2K of fraudulent charges before it all got taken care of.  USBank did an OK job of making sure it stopped and getting the fraudulent charges off my bill.  I am careful with my personal info, so one of the places I used the card must have someone there that used or sold the info.

My business partner has the same name as some yayhoo on an arrest list the .gov is looking for.  It's not a problem until he returns from out of the country.  Searches, questioning, hassles etc. He was told by an immigration/customs man, supposedly off the cuff, that this was the way it was going to be.  Never told what the guy is wanted for.

The only person I've ever met with the same name was my dad.  Almost got some ectra credits at a school in CA, but then they realised that I'd have been there while I was about 2 or 3.

I looked it up on a website one time and found I share my first and last name with 14 people in the US. According to a computer on base, four of us were in the military, fall of '98. One of them was stationed at San Antonio at the same time I was, but I never did meet him.

Hehe of the handful of people that have the same first and last name as me, I think I've got the lowest credit score The guy that comes up ALL the time on google is an attorney for Sun Microsystems, or used to be, and lectures around the country on legal-IT issues. Flip side, anyone looking for me on Google would have to wade through a lot of useless shit to find 1 or 2 actual references to me.

Here is how it works.  LEO's run license plate info, and then run the registered owners.  If the registered owner comes up with a warrant, then the officer waits until you violate a traffic law, something like going just over the speed limit or anything that gives them the ability to make a traffic stop.  That is when they get to see who's driving.  It's not necessarily the warrant that gives them PC, unless they recognize someone in the vehicle.

You might be surprised how many bad people are caught from traffic stops.  We used to catch most of our wanted folks this way, and this was long before laptops in patrol cars.

Just watched a show on the tube the other day that showed new technology that has cameras on either side of the police car and a computer that automatically runs every plate it sees. Say it can run the 14000 plates a day or something like that.

ETA: Another page 2 ownage!

Dont plan on seeing it in large scale use anytime soon...

Depts are fighting to keep whatever money they have now, they wont be spending it on toys that are illegal to use in a lot of places.

only problem was, I knew cop was behind me on SR204, had cruise set at speed limit, He was then in the lane next to me at SR204/SR9, got behind me again and lit me up just as I approached Lundeen pkwy , never committed any infractions or had any equipment probs to get pulled over for. I'm sure he would have thought of something if needed.

"Your license plate light wasn't working."
" I didnt see you signal when you changed lanes."
"Your headlights are too dim."
"Your trailer hitch obscures your license plate."
"Your license plate cover is too dark, oh I guess thats road grime not a license plate cover. License, insurance and registration please."
