I have a 20' travel trailer with aluminum siding. A while back I crunched the right rear corner trim. I applied some clear silicone caulk to the affected area to seal it up and keep the water out. I was kind of messy in my application of the silicone and it got spread around a little more than it needed to be. What kind of cleaning solution can I used to get rid of the excess silicone without affecting the paint on the aluminum siding?

What base is the paint?

I usually use Goof Off to cut my caulk messes here at the apartments, but it can take the paint off your siding depending on the base of the paint.

Razor blade is a good start LOL.

Try some goof off on a small spot and if it is good to the paint, razor blade and Goof Off..........

I don't think that much will affect cured silicone.  You'll probably have to scrape it off and touch up the paint there.

You might try a heat gun .... carefully, it's loaded.
