| Does anyone know where I can find the best prices..........currently looking at gunbroker. |
I have a steel 120 round drum for my AR15. Much better made than the plastic betas, they load easier and faster , hold 20 rounds more, can be stored fully loaded w/o winding the spring and do not hinder your grip / forearm like the too wide beta's do. |
If you really want your AR to weigh a ton, this sounds like the better idea of the two. |
Anybody seen the Blaze Orange PMags that DSG is now offering? |
I am a proud member of the big arm and large ass club When 120 Zombies are bearing down on you ... and there's not a moment to reload, happiness is a 120 round steel drum It's more a novelty than anything else, China may make alot of junk for Wally-world ... but they made some top notch AK / AR steel mag drums back in the 80's |
Sweeeeeeeet!

Humm, build an entire AR in dayglo orange around a p-mag???? |

| it seems like quite a few of you dont like the idea of a beta or drum style mag. i love them, i only have one but the idea that the gun banners sweat at the thought of them make me like them more. as for the P-Mags, ive never seen them before. ill have to pick a few up. but not oarnge. |
They just started offering them this last Wednesday or so. |
I like the idea of making the gun banners crazy, and to that end I would love to be able to own a SAW. That seems to be the proper application for having 100+ rounds hanging on a gun and delivering them to someone deserving. |
I agree with MAC1020, I want to have one in case the "banners" get the upper hand. Been watching the price most of the summer, $230 to $250 is about as good as I've seen. They aren't practical, they're too heavy, they are plastic, and I don't REALLY need one (since when does that matter). One of the coolest things I've seen since I took up this hobby was standing behind a buddy watching him rip off the whole clear back beta c-mag through a M16.

Sheesh, don't you guys know that the Beta C mag is used for fixed point defense at your house (or bug-out location). You're not going to take that Beta C mag and run through the woods with it. You do have gun slits cut into each exterior wall at knee level with an AR15 on a bipod at the ready with 5 Beta C mags, right? (Surrounded by sand bags of course). |
no i dont have gun slits cut. but i do have about 100 thirty rounders for the run. the beta is just cool to have and shoot |
For me it's not that I don't like drum mags, it's that Beta's have a history of issues and problems, and I don't like investing in things that have been tested and failed. If they made a version that was as tough and reliable as regular mags and needed the same kind of maintinence as a regular mag (i.e. no graphite), then I would be all over the beta mag bandwagon. As I said, they are fun to play with no doubt. But not really worth adding to a collection unless you have money to burn. |
Kinda like this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6zJP0nOXgI |
But a FUN novelty!!! Novelty fun courtesy of Bobbity!! |
