I have you as a contact on my MSN messenger. You seem to be infected with some kind of virus. McAfee identified it as "W32/Checkout". Your MSN username keeps trying to send me a zip file of pictures.

This is a link they sent me read about the virus vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_142395.htm

So if you are on my MSN messenger contact list, I'm NOT sending any pictures, Please don't click any links!!!  I am working on finding how to remove the virus fromt he PC now...

If your virus protection is up to date....It should have caught this.  What program are you using?

ETA: This also, may not be a virus

Change your MSN Messenger password, someone may have tricked you into giving them you pw.

I have one care, I haven't had any problems. I like that it runs in the background and doesn't keep popping up and asking if it can do something. Mcafee and Norton used to drive me nuts.

I've found that many "anti-virus" packages are nothing more than an expensive way to slow your computer down and do nothing else.  Norton and McAfee are among the worst, though they started off well (many many years ago).

I haven't found one yet that's effective.  I have another machine not running any virus protection that has had 1 virus in the last 4 years, and it's ALWAYS connected to the net.

Don't want virus's?  Avoid chat rooms and P2P networks (Limewire, especially).

Might I suggest NOD32?  Yes, you sent that POS virus to me over MSN over 50 times and I thought what the hell, I"ll see if NOD32 catches it.  And no sooner had I clicked ACCEPT for the file than it was deleted (detected as: Win32/Spy.GhostKeyLogger.C trojan).

Cant hurt to download the free trial of NOD32 from ESET...

We'll see if that works, downloaded it and ran it. took about 28 minutes for it to scan the system, but I'm thinking I should do it twice just to be sure...

Is there a problem with our fascination of boobs?  It's much like a womans fascination with shoes.... It cannot be explained, but we must see as many as possible.

I ran AVG on a bunch of machines in an internet cafe, never had a problem and those things were constantly being used for chat rooms, email and other crap.
