So right after I post my "I'm back and settled in!" post a couple of weeks ago, it becomes very apparent to me that UPS has totalled my computer.  Destroyed.  Doesn't work.  Thanks, UPS.  Hence, my absence on the boards.  I've got a friend's laptop for now.  I'll check in periodically.

That being said - someone got shot on campus tonight, very close to where I'm living.  I'm most definitely missing my rifles right now.  F*ck Kalifornia law.

OK, where are you and what happened to your computer?

I'd say I feel bad about the poor person who was shot, but California seems to want it that way.

Haha, I would hardly say Berkeley is or was ever a peaceful place :P  Just not usually an area for shootings :/  Whatever, it's changing everywhere.  Even at home in Washington, Burien is getting more and more dangerous as the years go by... Feh.

Where I am?  California - Berkeley to be precise.
What happened to my computer? - Long story short:  Gave it to the UPS store in Normandy Park, WA to be packed and shipped... Arrived to me with significant internal damage and now doesn't even post BIOS aka it's totalled.  We told the guy to mark it fragile when we shipped it and there's not even a hint of anything on the outside of the box.  It's totally their fault, and I don't think they're going to dispute that with all the evidence I've got against them (pictures, testimony, etc) but it's just a huge hassle.  Bleh.

they use those fragile stickers as targets anyway.
