What year/manufacturer of M1 was it? I think I would have to beat him with the now jacked up barrel quite vigorously.

Ah, now I'm trackin'.  So you loaned your Garand to someone, they then used their own ammo and KB'ed it.

Not the first time I've heard this type of story.

Well, at least he'll know better when he gets his own. Not that he'll make good for yours, mind you. That has to be your fault, I'm sure.

So the question is...

Is your "friend" going to make good on the M1? Cash and/or Replacement?

Of course he will.  Anything less would result in a lifetime of regret.

I had an issue nearly twenty years ago with a car I borrowed.  My buddy said not to worry about it - he'd have insurance take care of it.  He pocketed the insurance money and ghetto rigged his new but damaged car which rusted prematurely afterwards.  I always felt bad that I should have just cut him a check for his car which was damaged while in my care - even though I couldn't afford it.  He doesn't return my emails so I guess he feels the same way.

So Jonathan, be a man and buy Dillonivik a new M1.  You know it's the right thing to do...
