Hey all,

I'm feeling like getting back to my country roots and bagging a few cottontails in the fall.  Anyone have any suggestions on locations within a couple hours of Seattle.  I'd also like to do some bird hunting should anyone know of a good location for that.

I don't know about anywhere in Washington. But two weeks ago I was in Wales, UT hunting jack rabbits. Got 3 with my Bushmaster and the one in the picture with the 30-06 (hence the #4 hand sign). Good times for only being out a couple hours. Can't wait to do it again. I would also be interested in an area in Washington, I didn't know we had an abundance of them over here.

I searched a bit for public land in the Lake Stevens area, but came up shy of success.  Is there any in the area?  Thanks for the btt and responses.

I've not been to the area.  Care to clue me into the laughter?

I'm looking to do the same Dallas. I'd like to even find an empty area devoid of people. A place with plenty of room and no one around for miles.

Two words: Dry Side

Another vote for the Dryside. I will not revel My favorite spot but My favorite time to go after them is in the winter especially after a fresh shot of snow. One year after a  fresh blanket of snow fell we got over 20 in about fifteen minutes it was pure carnage/they can not escape if you can fallow there tracks. After that we put them in pile came back later  and got a couple of coyotes.

Take HWY 26 from Yakima towards Hanford, about 15/20miles out Left and right of the highway. Big +1 on the snow, makes it loads easier.
