I was giving the dog a bath, the water helped separate her hairs, and found two tiny red holes in the top of lump on her shoulder... very spider bite looking.

4:30 this morning, she awakened me for a trip to the back yard, where I noticed her side all wet looking. She clawed it open and it was draining lymphatic fluid (clear stuff-not pus) all down her side to her back leg and foot (that's a lot of leg to soak). I wiped her down with a warm cloth for about a half hour while she tugged at the cloth and tried to play. It's half the size it had gotten to(a little bigger Sunday morning than it was on Saturday). Her vet appt. is 1 hour from now, for the end exam and report. I think she'll be fine. I just hope it's not a Hobo spider bite. I had one of those 20 years ago and it took 6 months for the wound to heal! |
It was a spider bite turning into an abscess. I heard all about the tinkle, she's always MINE when that happens. I'll be right over for PCR's sample, I suspected it was worms when I saw him dragging his ass over to the firing line the second time. BTW, can any of you guys out there, not a fatherly type in the_jet's life, explain to her why a fella with a 'girlfriend in Spokane' wants to be 'just friends' with her? He knows she gets all butterflies and pussy cat purring around him.! |
