[hijack] Yes, in both Chicago and Las Vegas... Good luck getting anything done in a timely manor. Also sucks ass when they fuck something up or don't do what was contracted to do. You get to reschedule around THEIR employers time rather then getting their asses back out ASAP to correct was was FUBAR or not done. I don't blame the workers, I blame the union BS... Rune sent the booga-booga my way ...pieces fell off into the dirt... but at least nothing of mine stopped firing all together.  All good fun though and I may make the LCR... so long as PCR doesn't try to bump-fire any $4000 rifles.

Very interesting. I've never experienced such things here, but have heard about them from guys that have worked in large cities. Riddle me this: Who dwells in large cities and has their hands in prostitution, gambling, drugs and yes, even construction? You guessed it. They are the reason for the situation you have described. The contractor is the front man so when guys see that kind of business practice its natural to say its the evil union. Still others hate unions for legitimate reasons that do not apply to the trades. Besides, "union framers" are a rare bird. Framers are not to be confused with carpenters. While union carpenters do get to do a little bit of framing once in a while, generally speaking the bulk of the framing is done by the non union guys. (At least around here, can't speak for Chicago or Vegas.) You know, our undocumented non English speaking brothers and others content to make half of what they would if they were in the union. Do we get to find out what has a half a dozen hammers but is only 2 or 3 actually work? (Speaking of non English speaking!)  |
