I bought a new toy.  I'd been wanting this particular gun for several years, but was unable to find it for quite some time.  Then I found out it had been discontinued!

Someone here (sorry, I forget who) mentioned GunBroker.com and just for the heck of it, I did a search.  And there it was!  I put in the first bid, which turned out to be the only bid, and won the auction.  Cool!!!

So now, with the help of GunBroker.com, Barrett Tactical Systems in Arizona (the seller) and Mary's Pistols (for handling the transfer), I'm am the happy owner of a NEW (not used, dammit.  NEW!!!)...

Taurus Total Titanium Model 415 .41 Magnum 2.5" revolver (yeah, I know.  It's not an EBR)

Going to the range tomorrow
TTIWWOP, or something, so...

Better let me headspace it and time the cylinder. Be sure to bring me some ammo, too.

That'll be a double handful just holding on when the hammer falls

Ummm..... I'll get back to you on that one REAL soon

Well, theoretically, the combination of the light weight of the titanium, the Ribber grips and the ported barrel will allow the gun to be quite comfortable to shoot.  There was an article about the Total Ti guns when they first came out that sort of explained it.

I will find out tomorrow.  I might even videotape it just for the hell of it.

Well, the thing shoots pretty darn good, I just need lots more practice!

There is just a bit of sting in the palm of the hand when it goes off, but nothing I can't get used to.  Fired nearly a full box of ammo (saved 5 rounds so I can keep it battle ready here at home )

I was amazed at how little muzzle jump there is.  I used to have a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 Mag and the first time I touched that one off the muzzle ended up pointing straight up.  This little thing seems to have nearly no muzzle rise.  I guess that porting really works.

Here's a pic of the last 20 rounds I fired (one is out of frame towards the top of the paper).  When I tried rapid-fire, the rounds went all over the place.  Slow(er) worked quite well, though.  This is at "combat" distance - about 7 yards.  I'll try it at 25 yards next time.  Like I said, I need practice

ETA: No video.  Maybe next time.

Slow and COM is much much better than fast and blowing off an ear, fingers or toes of a bad guy.

I have one of those in .44 Special.  Shoots pretty good, too.
