I'm thinking about picking up a supressor. Anybody have any experience with getting a signoff in Puyallup/Pierce County? ETA: If I get a 5.56, can I use it on a .22 as well? |
It's that sexy jamaican accent.. smartass |
Most of the manufacturers say you should not use the .223 can on .22LR's. Some even void the warranty. Besides you probably won't want to use a .223 can on your .22 pistols, the .223 cans are much heavier. I had the same thought when I got my Outback II until I saw the weight difference. Can't say anything as to signoff in the south end there. I'm in Seattle city limits so I had to go the trust route for mine. Good luck, enjoy the can it's great fun! |
Check in with one of the Class III dealers in the area such as Wade's Eastside in Bellevue. They should be able to tell you if they have had customers that have got the signoff in that area recently. If the answer is no... look at registering the suppressors to a Corporation or Trust. As a former WA resident that owned suppressors there personally... don't let the signoff be too much of a hurdle.
Yes, and this usually is no problem on a .22LR rifle but most 5.56mm suppressors are too heavy and large to work well on a .22LR handgun. They tend to be fairly nose heavy and block the sights. That being said, I have a customer that ran a Gemtech M4-96D on his Browning Buckmark. Owen Gemtech |
