You guys want to have a hard core drink?  We call it the IED, and its a half pint glass of Guinnes, with a shot of Jack, or wild turkey.  You shoot it like a jaeger bomb.

Not a popular drink.....

Well they have IEDs with mortars instead of Arty shells so I guess the Jack is kinda like that.

Hehehehehe, maybe I should mix this up and tell my friends I have a few IEDs on my counter and anyone interested can go grab one.

That's what I was thinking.

For those who don't know

Irish Car Bomb

3/4 pint Guinness
1 oz Jamison
1/2 oz Bailey's Irish cream

Pour Guiness into a pint glass. Float Baileys on top of Jamison in shot glass. Drop shot glass, carefully, into Guiness. Drink quickly before it curdles.

Sounds good, if I could stomach Guiness. How can you drink something that tastes like burnt dirt?

Just make sure you drop the shot in the pint glass right before you drink it.

The point of the Guinness is that its supposed to be the dirt, and the shot of whiskey the IED...  Thats why you drop it in

I've done several in the past...

One night I did one with some friends, I guess I couldn't chug fast enough, as I had the glass to my mouth I could see it start to curdle just inches from my eyes.  It ended the fun pretty quickly....

Yup. While in Iraq, my brother took a picture of a humvee that had been blown up by an IED. The engine was totaled, but the armor protected everyone inside. I don't think I'm man enough to drink something named after a device that can blow the engine of a humvee.

The town? I have no clue, but he was involved with Operation Steel Curtain, so that might be a clue.

Operation Steel Curtain was a Marine op in Hit and other Iraqi cities near Syrian border.  Ive been up and down route Irish and never even got a pop shot.  Im not saying it not dangerous, just that when I am there the Muj isnt.
