Is this in reply to my IM to you Strat? If so, you should have kept my suggestion and that discussion within IMs. I don't think you really want to debate it out in the open. If you do, get started. I'm here. |

That's Cool... Got to keep our Allies Up to snuff. I served with a couple of Japanese troops in Saudi for a little while. Good Folks, and could drink you under the freaking table. ETA NO not in Saudi. Saudi is a "Dry Country" out of respect for our "Darling" hosts there was NO Alcohol... Anywhere, Ever... |
![]() I thought it was Water.... Afterall, it was in a water bottle.
|
I have NO Idea what your talking about... |
| JAL has a pilot training facility at the Grant County airport. I guess the Japanese have invaded Moses Lake, too. Probably sneaking troops and equipment in on those airliners and amassing an invasion force in their secret underground bunker beneath Moses Lake. |
| I dont harbour any ill-will towards the japanese... They hit us with our pants down and we nuked their asses twice. Id say they are square with the house now. Considering the enemy we are faced with now, the japs looked down right honorable. Batan death march included. |
I was tracking with you right up until this part. The way the Japanese treated EPW's and others in other country's was on par and many times worse. Beheadings, torture, rape, and all on scales that were 20 times plus what we see now. Lets be glad that we get along now, but lets not be so quick to forget what they have done to your brother Marines and fellow serviceman. Ok to forgive, if you want, but dont forget. |
If I came off sounding like the Batan death march was just fine and dandy, then its my bust. What I mean is that on average, the japanese were tough and honorable warriors. The batan death march was a true tragedy, almost as nasty as Nazi atrocities. But I cant stress the fact that we got the last laugh on their asses. THAT is why I say its time to let bygones be bygones so to speak. Im no flaming lib-tard. I whole heartedly agree that nuking japan was the right choice, but the pain and suffering inflicted on the poeple of japan was equally as awful as anything the japanese ever did to us. do you see where Im comming from with this? |
None of us choose our genealogy but we can effect our nationality, Americans of japanese decent were not the only Americans to be locked up, it happened to many Americans of german decent as well. |
| My dad was an Italian immigrant he was detained for a few months. Then the Army offered the opportunity to join up. He did and translated during the invasions of Sicily and Italy. Not to brag but he got several commendations along the way. That is in my opinion a patriot. (got him citizenship also) |
I agree I commend people willing give to get legally and become citizens of this country let alone the ones who have the gift of living here and still serve this country... Look at the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. Some of which were not citizens, locked up in "relocation" camps, and when given the chance became some of the most patriotic "Americans" there are in my opinion... |
Actually, that's why they got nuked. We were so afraid of how stong a defense their citizens would put up against an invasion of the home islands that we figured a nuke would save lives on both sides. So you could blame the first use of nuclear weapons on the militia |
There was an interesting show on the history of beer in the US and they did cover the anti-German sentiment during and after the wars. Many of the beer manufacturers had to branch out into other businesses in order to keep from going belly up. Prohibition also had a large effect on them as well. |
Can you imagine an America without beer?!!! |
Bullshit. They committed just as many atrocities as the Germans, just perhaps not quite as large of a scale. The Bataan Death March was only one example of their barbarity. They were so fucking sick that they put anthrax into chocolate and fed it to Chinese children. They dropped shitloads of plague infested fleas over areas just to see how they affected the population so they could assess how well it'd work against America. Warriors my ass, they were mostly a bunch of collectivist savages who worshipped some scumbag emperor. |

So, I'm lost. Is this thread about how the Japanese should NOT be training in YTC or how they SHOULD be training at YTC or how they are secretly planning to take over YTC or how they've been planning this since WW2 when they dropped copies of "Yatta" on the guatamalans... Yours truly, -Lost |
The japanese may have done some horrible shit, but our own .gov has pulled off some equally heinous acts. Any soldier who continues to fight on for years without orders form higher is a good warrior in my book. |
|
Oh here we go with the multicolored inline editing. Do you people know how hard that crap is to read!? (Or is that the point?)
|
Ill admit, thats fucked up, but I have seen stuff similar to it done by our own guys in Iraq WTF? and you didnt report it.... It wasnt anthrax, but it was pretty gross and in some case deadly... But I know for a fact that the tracker guys who re RIPed with used to wipe candy on shit and give it to iraqis. Human shit is very dangerous to eat, but it isnt 'ANTHRAX" either. I never said I condoned it. But the point of my original post was this. What makes giving diseased candy to kids horrible, but 2 nuking non military cities more honorable? |
Im not here to stroke the off japanese or "give them respect" |
|
Some of you are acting like this is something new. We've been training and training with them, and other countries, both in their contries, and in ours for decades. Foreign troops have been to our training centers. They've been taught by our instructors. From onesies and twosies in Ranger School, to air defense artillery in Ft. Bliss. It's not a prelude to an invasion, or the .gov getting ready to hand over sovereignty (is that even a word?) to the UN. It's training with those that the government finds friendly at the time. As many of you live in the Tacoma (meaning Ft. Lewis, and McChord) area, you act surprised everytime you see a foreign vehicle on a flat bed as if it's not been happening since before you were born |
