Your link isn't working?

I can still remember the mixture of emotions that I went through that day - shock, sadness, grief for those lost, and most of all the anger.  I've never forgotten, and I never will.

Damn right, I lost a lot of Brothers that day.

It was an extremely somber day.  I remember driving home that night.  For those that don't know Tampa drivers make Seattle drivers look downright skilled and polite.  That night though, everyone was very calm, very cooperative.

All I was thinking about is why would you poke the sleeping giant...  I wanted revenge.

To be honest, I was truly discontent.

I couldn't believe that 4-5 planes was the whole shootin' match.  There had to be more.

I know that sounds strange and whatnot, but I'm kind of offended that if you're going to incur a superpower's wrath, if you're going to poke a sleeping tiger with a stick, you'd have enough respect to legitimately intend to engage, not irritate for the sake of feeling inadequate.  I don't feel you're courageous - you're a moron.  Granted, their infusion of theocracy renders their thoughts less than rational, but for goodness sake....

If you get a chance, listen to Sirius 100 today as they replay the attacks as they happened (Howard Stern).  Talk about emotional and riveting news.  I'm so angry I can hardly work today.

I am listening right now on Sirius 101, they were on the air when the planes hit. It is pretty sombering radio.

You know the weirdest part was the next day...

I remmember sitting outside my shop working on a rifle. I was sitting in a lawn chair and how quiet it was. I live in the flight path and to see jumbo jets on the horizon is just normal out here. It was getting dark and there was not a sound...So quiet you could hear a pin drop. I remmember looking up later on and the only thing I saw was a single military jet with it's after burners going hauling ass in a different direction than any of the planes fly. I also remmember the next day that I had to call the FAA tower to get permission to have Airlift Northwest fly medical missions, and that the Sheriffs office Helo could not go anywhere.

I know I am man. Shit, we got the kid home from school today too. I figure the treee hugging moonbats at her "learning center" won't teach her about it, so a day of 9/11 documentaries will fill the void. Never forget, never forgive.

It's a shame so many Americans have fallen for the twisted ideas of the left. I saw a woman at the fair yesterday manning a table in front of the food judging building. She was collecting sigs to end "the illegal war", support Watada, impeach Bush and God knows how many other insane causes. She didn't get much action as I sat and watched. I finally walked over, smiled at her and signed the petition..."fuck you!" all across it while she cheerfully thanked me. I wish I could have bought one of her t shirts, just to light it up in front of her table. But, then I'd be the bad guy on the local news. Some people just have no concept of what's REALLY going on in Iraq......so many targets, so little time...

Yup, can't do that.  Unless of course it was a US flag.  You can burn all those you want and the media would make you out to be a hero.

Conversation in the lunchroom today.

Idiot 1:  "Look, it's been five years and Osam is still running around doing whatever he wants."

Idiot 2:  "Yup. You know, I just don't care anymore."

Anybody watch that "Path to 9/11" shit?  I was working, maybe someone had it on their TV, but we don't have one.  Anyway, was it a whitewash? I understand ABC is supposed to have managed to make Clinton and Albright look worse than they actually were--which means they probably had it close to correct--and had to "tone it down".

I remember every second.
Today is my wife's birthday. I won't reveal her secret, but in 2001 she was having one of the major ones, with a "0" behind it.  She was very proud of hitting the mark, so took the day off--and for some reason, decided that she wanted to celebrate on the 10th instead of the 11th. So we went to the Palisades for dinner on Monday, September 10th; she took the 11th off.  I let her sleep.
I was working as a Kelly Services temp at Boeing Spares at the time, which is (or was) across Hwy 99 from the airport, and thus all of 6 miles from home; for some reason, I turned on NWCN; weather, I guess, I wasn't looking for traffic reports! Anyway, I saw the footage of the first strike, and remember getting very, very angry. I decided to let her sleep. As I drove in, they anounced the second strike, and it was obvious that I was one of the few who never considered the possibility that the first had been an accident.
"Al Qaeda", I said.  "Has to be those bastards."  Boeing annouced that anyone who wanted to, could go home. I said "I won't give them the satisfaction" and got to work.  All day folks kept coming by my desk--I thought it was oddd that so many people had stuff for me to do all of a sudden, but it turned out later (after my contract was up, and they all took me to lunch at the Silver Dollar Cassino ) that my "military demeanor" made many of them more comfortable.
First time I was ever accused of calming a situation down by my mere presence!
Anyway, I called and volunteered my services, but Uncle Sam didn't want me back.  Oh, well. At the time, my wife and I werer also working as violunteers at the USO lounge at Seatac, two weekends a month, and we had the 0400-0800 shift the following Sunday.  It was wall-to-wall troops, it took DoD a week to get housing arranged for everyone who was stranded while PCSing. I'm amazed I can still eat a tuna fish sandwich after all the thousands I made!
That's the only time I know of when the USO at Seatac was turning away reservists who weren't on orders, and retirees--by the charter, it's their choice, and they hate to turn anyone away.
(The Seatac Airport USO Lounge has also only closed it's doors once--for two hours after the earthquake of 2001. That's 40 years with 24/7 service!  A better record than any other USO Lounge in the world!)

We were in Mannheim, Germany getting everything done to Deploy to Macedonia. I was in the optometry Clinic watching CNN, one plane had already hit. I watched the second one hit, and turned to the Soldier Next to me and said "We're about to get real busy." A captain standing next to us asked me why I said that. Within an hour we were all locked down, spent 4 days sleeping in our day room and implementing security procedures on our 5 Kasernes. The Gemans piled flowers high around our gates for about 2 weeks. Nothings been the same since.

The soldier I turned to.......... Died in Iraq last December.

Today we stood infront of the Flag at 0600 hrs, waiting for it to be raised by a crew of MP's, cops, firemen and EMT's. Alot of the newer Soldiers were bitching about being up early and being cold. I can't believe people forget so quickly.

So tonight, I'm going to get Drunk off my Ass, and remember my friends who've been lost since 911. If it wasn't for 911, this War wouldn't have started, and we'de still have alot of our friends and family members who've gone before us.

It wasn't shit, because they actually showed the Clinton Administration as inept and pretty much the cause of the USA looking weak enough to hit.
They showed that Clinton's Cronies basically fucked the dog when they could've gotten UBL.
Now, if they'd just show the distraction of GORE counting 'chads' while UBL was making good on 'the plane operation'...

I hope the 2nd 1/2 is as good.

Quite a movie about the fanatic's. I can't seem to make it a hyper link here but the trailers may get your interest.  I was in Reno at the Airport getting ready to fly home. Saw a TV and asked what had happened, was told a small plane hit the tower. Saw the second plane hit and said "That was no accident" Everybody turned around and scowled at me. Second saddest day of my life. (and I am old)

My wife's also.   I still remember we were in the office when somebody said "an airplane hit the WTC".    Most of us, if not all, thought it was a gross accident but hard to believe since weahter was perfect so "how could a pilot not see the towers?".    It was very suspicious.   Shortly after when the second one hit we were sure it was no accident.    Then the conversations were about the towers being able to sustain such blazes.   Then, shortly after we saw they could not.   Very sad day indeed but my wife and I decided to go out and celebrate her birthday just with a simple dinner.   It was a way to not let the terrorists win by changing our ways of life but at the same time honoring the victims.

I also remember how weird looking at completely empty skies.   Interesting how we normally do not pay too much attention to airplanes but when they are not there it's like there's a "void".

Anyways... this was another Pearl Harbor, but this time it is a very different war with no front lines and it will last a long time.

One of my daughter's favorite computer games was Sesame Street Toddler/Preschool.  As Elmo wanders up and down the street the Twin Towers feature prominently in the background of the virtual cityscape.

Got my emotions going every time she played it.
