Actually I shot a DCM match twenty years ago with a lever action 44 magnum, but that doesn't count... Marysville Gun Club. 200yds. I didn't think I could even see a target at 200yds. I sort of surprised myself. I actually didn't suck too bad. I shot my Colt 6601 preban HBAR. I bought it new and had only fired about 100 rounds through it and is sat in the safe for about the last 12 years. She really shoots well. I wonder how she bumpfires...... It cost my buddy all of $5 to pay my way in (I treated him to the Oly day yesterday). A great group of shooters. A very small turnout. You guys ever shoot these type of matches? |

used to (two years ago) both the natl match at 200 300 and 600 yrd as well as the "garand" matches at 200. Around here the turn out is usualy the same twelve or so guys, not a better bunch to shoot with in my opinion, you need to borrow something like a spotting scope or shooting glove or whatever they're right there for ya. New shooter they will trip over themselves to help ya out and plenty of tips coaching etc... kinda like the HTF |

I need to get back into match shooting. I've been threatening to go and shoot with Odt, but haven't made it there yet. If you liked that match, I'd definately recommend going to practical rifle in Oregon. It is a blast. I'll make it back down there one of these days to try it again. |
