I'm a bit of a slut when it comes to rimfire guns, and even worse when it's just the .22 handguns. (Admitting guilt is the first step, or so I'm told) Anyhow, here's something most of you probably haven't seen at the funshows yet. Parts just arrived this afternoon, after a few month wait since ordering. Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 It goes nicely with last years project, it's bigger brother. Pic 1 Pic 2 |
Funny you should mention that. I have lobbied for a rimfire handgun section here on ARFcom, and would probably spend all of my free time there.... but no one has heard me yet I guess.... I see lots of questions that I wouldn't mind answering for folks in the different brand sections of the handgun forum, the armory, and elsewhere, but it's just too scattered for me to keep straight. ARFCOM NEEDS a rimfire handgun section! (IMHO of course |
Don't you have enough work here? KA3B and I will have to try harder |
Detour to the HIJACK!!!! I have something that looks allmost just like that, In a bolt action 223 |
No, just put it together & posted pics when I got home. Woulda, but it was raining, so I mowed the lawn instead. ![]() Tomorrow, if the gods approve... Thx for the kind words all. I know it aint black or evil enough, but it's the thought that counts. |
Has one, just mostly 10/22 stuff rinfire forum |
True, but it kinda bites for the guy trying to put his Ruger MKII back together for the first time, or the guy looking for opinions on the new VS old Hi-Standards, or the one wanting to know if the Buckmark is any better than the S&W41... I think a single collective place would be better for us. Where would you post a question about a newly aquired Challenger? In the Browning forum? In the rimfire rifle forum you linked? In the Handgun Discussion forum, or ....would you be better off in the General Firearm Discussion forum? All are getting those questions now. |
All I can say is: "MONEY WELL SPENT." REAL NICE. Kinda 'cowboy ammo' on a small scale, what with the pistol and carbine sharing .22LR Thanks for posting those pix. |
And MkIs. The second, third, fourth. . . eighty-seventh time, ad nauseum. I did see a deal on a MkII that replaced that troublesome pin with an allen screw so that all that needs to happen is a quick screw removal and the slide / bolt just comes out the back of the receiver. Where on ARFCOM would I ask about that? Shit, I guess I just done asked right here. ![]() See also, www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=15&t=232883 I picked up a Mossberg 342KC .22S-L-LR bolt gun for $45. Now all I need is a friggin' magazine for it. Of course the mags are about 2/3 what I payed. |
Sight in and field test complete. Function: 100% Accuracy: Best as can be excpected with the bulky sights. Considering alternatives. Fun: Damned right. Cool: Very. Value: Who cares? Purpose: Floating Leaf Sinker. (can't wait until Fall, again) |

We have several .22's here my own is a much used and still loved Marlin Model 60 also in the safe....my daughters modified Ruger 10/22 my sons Marlin 795 and the rifle they both learned on..a pretty little Keystone Kricket....neat little rifle, quite accurate, aperture sights, floated barrel, and laminated stock...all in a single shot trainer. |
What's your opinion of having that holosight on the rifle? Is it any different than the eotech operation/function-wise? Ever tried one on a handgun? Years ago, I had a holosight on a long .22 bench pistol, but it was so long ago, I can't remember why I didn't stick with it. Now that I've tried the eotech out recently, I'm quite impressed with the quality/function compared to the other dot sights I've owned over the years. So I'm considering a pair of them, on the two guns in the first post here. Thoughts? |
The Bushnell Holosight is the same thing as an Eotech without a recticle and without the protective shroud. It's no different in its operation than an Eotech, right button turns it on and makes it bright, left button makes it dim and both shut it off. I have yet to try one on a pistol, I do have a very early Aimpoint 1000 (rifle red dot) mounted on a MKII. It is supposed to have a screw in 2 power scope that goes with it. I have been toying with the idea of mounting either the Bushnell or an Eotech to the MKII and try it out. A red dot sight makes shooting the MKII really fun.

Smith Rimfire Pron...![]() But here's the challenge! If someone can guess what the Mystery Rimfire Pistol is, I'll get off my ass and send in my Membership Fee! Come on now, give it a whirl. And no cheating from OdT - he already knows. Hint#1 - I had to import this puppy from another country it was such a hassle to find one.

Might use a little help holding him down though.
