Very cool, and a bit spooky at the same time. I recall reading about this technology a few years ago, on a email subscription that I've since lost, (RCFOC- Rapidly Changing Face of Computing), that IIRC was being develpoed in Puyallup WA. It was presented in a somewhat pessimistic form, indicating the privacy risk implications of course. The way I remember it, it was intended to be used in office buildings and such, to provide security in a keyless environment. It also went in to retina scans, bluetooth, and such, but my memory isn't good enough to give much detail. This is a pretty cool application though. I need to figure on getting set up with a remote starter for my next rig.... 1GR has it and I've always thought it would be ideal for warming up the rig in the mornings.

We need a picture of Bob with the Bear or how about a discount if Kaci comes down to have her photo taken with the bear and flips her good buddy R-32 a "friendly" salute?

Very impressive. Still, he had to enter the vehicle to use the 'kill switch'... It reminds me of the automated sinks...or toilets...that come on or flush whether you want them too or not. You might be picking your nose or looking for spinach in your teeth, but the damn faucet starts spewing water whether you want it to or not...sometimes rather spasmodically. Quite amusing and irritating at the same time. Just a few steps away from '666'.  |
