 I was really enjoying the gun porn in ODT's thread. Since it got locked, please show me yours, without the political "panties-in-a-wad". As promised, here's my modest collection. CVA kit-built, Hawkins .50 cal muzzle loader. (Yup, I built it myself)  Winchester m94 30-30  One of our AK-47s  Smith & Wesson m10 .38sp Revolver  And what it did at 25 yards  Just picked up this Star m43 9mm on Wednesday. It's sooo fun.  |

I'm running out of pictures that aren't dated, and that are already on my server.... but I did get 'loopy' with the Buckmark carbine yesterday. (So damned fun to shoot, I almost teared up with excitement!
 )  If this thread stays open long enough, I'll post some pics of "The Meataxe" later on. (my favorite hunting rifle) There's a little gunporn on my web pages. (Ruger .22 pistols) Sights General tips |

Skeeter, not only have I seen your gun, I've fondled it and made it shoot too. You can still show it off to these fine folks, I don't mind.
 ODT, your Buckmark is a purty gun and looks fun. It's great to find something you enjoy that much. There's a lot of good info and good pics on your web site too. Thanks for the links. R-32, Skeeter and I don't have AR's either. It's all good gun porn. |

I have always been partial to the colt python, although the nicest revolver i have ever shot was a S&W small frame 357mag that was made specially for the border patrol.

Her name is Amy, she's my wife, she's the mother of our 2 kidlets, she likes sharp pokey things, things that go boom, camping, fishing, old time crafts and Jeeps. Know enough to post pics yet?

Well I was going to wait to post pics of this one until I had the proper riser mounts, and the B/BC/CH, but here it is anyway.ETA I almost forgot, since I took that pic I swapped out the upper and used it to build my desert camo rifle and replaced it with a DPMS slick sided upper that has no deflector, forward assist, or ejection port cover. I'll put up new pics when it's totally done.

 A nice High Standard purchased from Frederick & Nelson's Sporting Goods Department.  A boxed FIE Bronco in .22 Magnum. Just a plain oddity.

Ok I'm in on this one. You all look like you are having too much fun.
 The quiet one....  My favorite battle rifle....  This one was stolen while I was in Portland and then used in a gang shooting. Took me two years to get it back. But by then I was tired of 9mms and went back to carrying 1911 45acp, because for one they are more legal for a trucker.  I needed this one like I need a hole in the head (it's brand new never fired)....  This is the one I would like to have but I already spent the money I got from kooter buying my FAL on other goods. .... Edit for double pictures

For posting pictures on the forum I use www.villagephotos.com, and have been for about a year now. Craigs list you don't need a server. Just click on add pictures and then click the browse button. Then find the picture you want within the files from your PC. I'm not a PC nerd & don't want to hijack this thread but hope that helps. |

This was a revolver that started out as 4.5" barreled gun, that had seen far better days. It had almost no blueing left on it,, and much pitting. Back in the early 90s, is when I aquired it.This is about the time I watched the movie Lonesome Dove, and there's a scene in the movie that had a rifle, with a revolver action on it. (I looked up what it was once, but can not recall right this minute). I figured why not, (I got it in on a trade, and don't fancy cowboy guns at all), and dropped it off at the gunsmith, to get a barrel legal for rifle length installed, and refinishing. I then made a buttstock attatchment and forearm piece out of some gorgeous oak wood. (I never did take any pictures of it) Once completed, it shot very well, but there was a couple of aspects that took the fun out of it, which hadn't occured to me prior. Having the action that close to your face, resulted in too much noise, and plenty of hot powder spray. (Rugers don't have the tightest tolerances at the cylinder gap). So eye and ear protection was a must. However, it made for a hell of a conversation piece. During the years 1GR had his store, it hung on the wall there, and seemed to fit in with some of the other odditys he had in there. Around 2002, I got the itch to swap it back to handgun. Shortly after that, I posted the picture above on rimfirecentral.com, and it caught the attention of a collector. The collector made a few offers, until he found my price. So, I had some fun with it for a few years, and now it has found a proper home.

What cartridge is your Mountain Rifle chambered in? I've always had soft spot for that version of the 700. Love your little Browning take-down rifle too. My first gun, (at age 8), was a Grade I version of the same. That's what I learned to shoot with, and I passed it down to my older son a few years ago. |

The 700 is chambered in .260 Remington. Recoil is a bit on the heavy side with full tilt hunting loads. I hope your son keeps it in the family. Mine is not a "real" Browning but it's nice nonetheless. |

I'm hearing really good things about the .260 since it's introduction. (The high power silhouette shooters have swarmed to it like mad). Should make a fine hunting round. The Norincos(?) seem to enjoy the same popularity as the Brownings do. I've never heard any of their owners say anything negative about them, as they seem to be a good quality copy. |

I'd prefer a Belgian for the authenticity. Today, Brownings are manufactured by F.N. in Belgium, A.T.I. in the U.S (never heard of them), and Miroku in Japan, which is where mine was made. |

I've had a few Miroku Brownings, and though not quite as pretty as some of the Belgian stuff of yesteryear, I really couldn't come up with a legitimate complaint about them. I don't know what's even left of the original Browning these days, besides a fancy catalog & new website, and some features in their product line not found with some of the other major manufacturers...... but I still do really like them, and do enjoy their products. |
