Thanks for the heads up, round out.

James Madison on Standing Armies and continual warfare
Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. In war, too, the discretionary power of the Executive is extended; its influence in dealing out offices, honors, and emoluments is multiplied; and all the means of seducing the minds, are added to those of subduing the force, of the people.... [There is also an] inequality of fortunes, and the opportunities of fraud, growing out of a state of war, and ... degeneracy of manners and of morals.... No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

Good Great articles. Worth a lot more discussion than they are getting.

The socialists fear exposure, history clearly shows that self government/liberty is the best solution to the human equation.

Independence! Heaven forbid we all become socialists and end up poor like me. I couldn't even afford an AR if it weren't for looting Da_Bunny's stash.

Enough out of you R32, Strat is far too accomplished and schooled for me to battle with. I believe there is a place for government and it is small and in the background. Again I say, Independence!

I thought the article about Angel Shamaya was great but kind of took a tangent at the end.

Am I wrong here Strat?

The only disagreement at the end I have is where she starts thinking centralized control, the militia is local in nature, it is only national when called into service for war, foreign invasion /  military insurrection or a major catastrophe.

Ed has been contacted about the National Militia Standards but he said he has no knowledge about actual organization only constitutional law.

4th generational warfare is inevitable.

Rich or Poor dont mean squat here.

You have gotten a lot more than some looted parts from DaBunny, You have received outstanding deals on the parts you have paid for from other members, and you have received one on one instruction on building your first lower. But your rifle is not what Im talking about...

You have made some very good friends who are 100% into seeing you become successful in your new hobby. and what goes around comes around.

Strat is far too accomplished and schooled for me to battle with.

Wanna bet?...

Lets see him build a rice burner like you can.

Strat is but one person in this forum, and his backround is just a small part of what makes this place fun to hang in... Each and everyone of us in here has something that makes them stick out from time to time...Be it putting a stereo system in a ride,Defending our country from terrorist attacks, Putting out housefires/helping those in need, Snapping the family picture,Busting Shoplifters,Transporting the new foundations of future buildings,Transporting people from point A to Point B, or 1Gunrunner being our PIO for Gay Cowboys from Texas...The list goes on and on.

No matter what comes up around here, we seem to have someone that is the right man or woman for the job...And they always seem ready, willing, and able to help out.

I believe there is a place for government and it is small and in the background. Again I say, Independence!

Many here agree with you, In fact Im williing to bet most of us do, but we do have a couple here that don't...We seem to still get along at the end of the day.

I thought the article about Angel Shamaya was great but kind of took a tangent at the end.

It bored me to the point where I will read it later when Im not so tired.

Am I wrong here Strat?

It is your opinion, and this is the net...Your not wrong or right..

Thanks for the pat on the back R32. I know I've  gotten a great deal of help from KA3B, Sixguns, Tumbleweed, and you also. Bunny was just the most recent in a long line.

I ask Strat about being right or wrong because he has a well schooled background in this sort of stuff while crafty journalist could possibly make me react to their writing with emotion and hoorah rather than think about what is truly being written. I do think there is right and wrong and I am wrong too often.

If I can learn by listening, I will.  The tangent I was speaking of was what Strat replied to in the next post. He validated my thoughts. I feel good.
