Walking out of Fred Meyer and of course there they are selling cookies. I had already planned on buying annother couple of boxes, but I made them give me the FULL sales pitch first. After she's done I say "Now what's this operation cookie drop?" I already knew, but dammit she was going to earn my 8 bucks.

The 10 year old girl says: "Operation cookie drop is where you can donate a box of cookies to our brave men and women fighting overseas"

Dunno why, but that got me all choked up. "Here give me a box of the Caramel Delights, put the rest towards the troops."

The Catch is, you gotta deliver them yourself.

It's awesome being on the receiving end of that...

The one hot meal we had each day had to be dragged to our compound from a nearby FOB. When it was sprayed all over the road from an IED we just dragged the rest of the upside-down trailer back inside the wire. We got over two dozen boxes of Girl Scout cookies in the mail drop that night.

3am dismounted psyops/presence patrol and the only thing to eat is MREs and melted Thin Mints.

God bless the motherfuckin Girl Scouts.

Things you learn on ARFCOM.

Being Diabetic I run from them like they have the plague.

Now that I know this, I will run after them. Someones gonna get some cookies.

Girl ScouNts?

Samoas are the favorite at the HABU hacienda. We've had cookies come home, but I have yet to see a GS. I'll have to swing by Safeway or Albertsons and see if they are shipping to the troops.

From now on, CavVet will be know as the guy who doesn't eat cookies but chases after Girl Scouts anyway.

Scout: "Is your lemonade made from real lemons?"
Wednesday: "Are your cookies made from real Girl Scouts?"

If you know anybody and are going to mail some yourself, those vacuum pack things are fantastic. My ex-wife, before the drugs and dumb shit, mailed me some thin mints. The vacuum packing kept the chocolate from melting and making a big mess. I had to cool them before opening the plastic, but not much of a mess.

Well darn! I forgot all about that program when I bought 2 boxes today. Will have to rectify that...

I can't go 2 hours without somebody pimping their kid's cookies on me in the 'Yard... Needless to say, I buy a lot of them and toss them on the break table for everyone to snack on. Good times for sure. Thanx for the info on Cookie Drop... I didn't know about it.

Well, the GSs cleaned out my wallet tonight, including a donation for Cookie Drop. I had to ask about the program though. Oh well, I guess I can't blame them for keeping troop support covert in the Olympia area.

There was a girlscout on the side of the road today with her dad that had a HUGE sign for Operation Cookie drop so I sent 4 more their way. He assured me that no officers would be getting any of his daughters cookies and I laughed my ass off.

Tis a good thing those girlscouts.
