I don't know what I did, or how I did it, but our computer is FUBAR!  it's only running in "safe mode" and there is nothing I can do to it to get it back to "normal" mode....Taking arfcom from him will be like taking his right nut  OTOH If we don't have a computer we don't have the need for internet therefore we won't have the need for the homephone line so that's a $70 a month savings.......

If he gets mad just tell him the $70 a month saved could go to ammo or future gun purchases

Never!  If he doesn't have you guys to entertain him, I'll have to do it...and it's just easier to pass that chore onto you guys

I hate trying to "surf" the net in safe mode...the colors the sizes...it's ALL wrong

I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

I got to thinking "wait a minute, if we are in safe mode then how the hell am I able to get on the internet?"

Then I got to looking at the monitor and realized it didn't say "safe mode" in the corners like it does when the computer is actually in safe mode.

Did a little net surfing and found that somehow she had changed the videocard to a "standard VGB" or something like that. I removed that, and made the computer reinstall our video card. VOILA!! Everything is back to normal.

I think I am going to ban her from the computer unless I am around to OK everything she does.

Send MsK to skuul, she's dangerous.

It's kinda like having a North Korean computer hacker living in your house.

I thought so, it used to happen when I had a 98 machine running too.

For no apparantly consistant reason the same thing would happen.

If they are still using Win98 will their machine handle XP?

My last Win98 machine was a Celron 400.
