Bobbity didn't get his plate of fries until an hour and a half later....you guys should start a club.

So...new location next time?

It's all Phil's fault.

It was only because BigScrun wasn't there.

Pity-- they made good burgers, if a bit on the dry side.

Well, I guess it's time to do some more market research in the area.

My Flatiron steak was supposed to be still sizzling on the skillet...it was not. Hippy's coffee was luke warm....Dissapointing, they usually do pretty good. I guess 30+ people can be daunting

There is a semi-new place to eat in Lacey if you guys wanted to make the drive down this far south (Maybe 1GR would make it then ) It's a Lonestar or something like that, the food smelled REALLY good when I ran in for a menu a few weeks back.

And of course,

Dave's BBQ is next door. 36 folks, best turnout I've seen for a lunch yet! But with the big party tab, their $12.99 specials turned into 17 bucks. Not good for so so food imo. Maybe we should just tailgate in the gunshow parking lot.

Good day, light traffic from Snohomish, Gibby got a great deal on an M44, and I grabbed eight more mags for my FAL. Fun show.

Oh yeah, when they brought that out, you were outside. They left it at Gibbys empty spot, since nobody claimed it. So it sat around for about 10 minutes, before they picked it up and asked who's it was again.

That would explain the lack of sizzle, although I didn't notice any when it was new, either.

There ain't no steenking parking monitor! So, I, of the late-cold-fries-even-colder-coffee, certainly would be willing to try 'gating. If for no other reason than to say we did. The folks at tgif just don't seem capable of handling large groups of people, er, groups of large people, er, uh groups of people at large, uh yeah...what he said. Hell, I'll even donate a tailgate. But, on the Good Side, I enjoyed myself immensely. Apolgies to thoe of you who were not graced by my immenseness. Hey, Cavvet, when you sit next to 50BigManGland, keep your hands where we can see them. His, too. And quit winking at me. It upsets Phil and you know how he gets!

Im going to start here.

As soon as I google up the Corporate info I will be sending them a letter, followed up by a phone call. I was stunned at the series of events as they played out.

One (trainee) waiter on the 12 tables.

I asked and was told first 15 mninutes, then 5 more minutes, then 20 minutes later it hadnt been entered in the computer.

And that was before the bouncer cook guy decided to stalk us, and follow us out in the parking lot continuing to taunt us even after we had left the building.

[pisssed]

Yeah, they will get some feedback.

HE followed you guys into the parking lot???

Dumb bastard had no idea who he was dealing with, did he?
Link Posted: 1/21/2006 5:29:52 PM EDT
Yes, TGIF was the suck, this time. This is the only time in the nearly three years we've been going there for lunches that I can recall having problems with the service there, but they sure did go out of their way to give us extra poor service.

After I finish with other business this week I will be working my way up the TGIF chain.

OTOH Famous Daves told us, yes we can handle 30 people in our other room, if you can give us two hours notice that would be great, but if you can't that's ok too.

We was carrying on at us while he stood in the doorway. It didn't matter anyway we had lunch in the restaurant, not the bar.

Its times like today when you know who your friends are.

I asked for the manager twice. I was physically trapped behind the table up against the wall.

After much delay, no food and no manager, KA3B () went and got him and brought him to the table. He was not too happy with him and let him know. He was catching it from my right and left.

Hell I wasnt able to get much in as the poor manager was being told how bad it was from a few different people.

But he was safe, his bodyguard had his back.

And why the bodyguard followed us out to the parking lot, both physically and verbally continually taunting us is beyond me. He was supposed to be in the kitchen, why didnt he just go back in the kitchen and kitch??

Folks as a service professional I have to say that an experience like this is inexcusable:/

That douchebag that followed you out....wtf. Tailgating is a good idea

At the November lunch it was over hour and a half for me to get my burger, they did the same BS, it will only be a few minutes, 30 minutes later it was being cooked......... in December they had some things screwed up mostly beer orders, the waiter that time was pretty cool and brought us some bread sticks and stuff for our trouble, no charge.

The bouncer/cook crap pissed me off, if the manager can't talk to the customers without a boucer and kitchen crew, he's in the wrong business, candy assed mofo.

Interesting... they should have been on the naughty list already then.

Now they're on the suxxor list for sure.

Can't we all just get along?

This thread is worthless (but still cool) without pictures. I have noted pisspoor service at tgif before. I will admit to eagerly lusting after some of the hired help, though. It's obvious they weren't hired for their food service skills. Yes, Brian, that little blonde did put the RUMP in scRUMPtious. Nevertheless, if all we wanna do is drool over chickysnax, we can go to Deja Vu. I suggest we try either Crapplebees or Daves once. Maybe twice, if they get it half right. But we realy do need to try tailgating at the show. Sounds like an experience to be had there. Phil, tell Gunchyck we had a great big asskickin', nuthin'-left-but-hair-teeth-and-eyeballs-knockdown-dragout BRAWL. Tell her you got an owie. You'll get sympathy and cookies, for sure.

Phil, there is no way you are going to convince me that the man hurt you THERE (without pictures). But if you want me to kiss it, all you have to do is ask...

Don't know which thread to put this in, but this is what I sent tgifridays.

A member of my party had his order taken but was never served anything except iced tea. Being that there was less than 10 others in the entire place, I know this situation could have been avoided if we had more than 1 waitress and 1 trainee attending us. Now, even though my friend was never served lunch, I feel he handeled the situation very calmly all the time he was there. When all of us were finishing our meals, he asked to speak to a manager. Eric came over with a "body guard" a slovenly man named Tony; the head cook. Nobody in our party of over 40 made any remarks, got out of their seats, or jestures to deem a heavy (that was trying to intimidate us) be present. After talking to the manager and expressing our displeasure, we told the manager that we will be taking our business elsewhere. After the manager left, for an unknown reason, the "head cook" glared at us from across the room for well over 20 minutes. When we were getting on our coats, jackets, and scarves, this cook stood next to the entrance way while scowling at some and making rude and undeserved comments to others. My friend did not deserve to be verbally baited and attacked as the smelly cook spoke under his breath. The cook should never have said "It's about time you're leaving" or when he sneered at him saying: "You want the corporate number?" Someone should have smacked the taste out of his mouth. Finally, as we said our goodbyes to eachother outside the door, the cook turned into a doorman and opened the door for 2 sets of customers while trying to intimidate us with more rude comments.

I have never been witness to anything like this incident in my life. I hope I never will be again. By boycotting TGIFriday's, I think that is a step in the right direction since management at the Puyallup location saw fit to hire this thug.

Thank you and have a nice day.

BTW, I vote for that famous dave's. I need BBQ!!11112

The more complaints they get, the better, so if there were 30 people, I hope there will be 30 complaints sent soon. Otherwise, it's just one bitter, angry customer who saw the situation differently than the other 29 sane people in the group.

plus, you get free appetizers for every complaint, right?

win-win

His Name is Anthony Taylor
CavVet Here is what I submitted

On January 21st around noon a group of about 30+ went to eat at your Puyallup location; we trickled in four or so at a time. The waitress was very pleasant and accommodating in seating us together. We all ordered in a spread out manner because we only had two servers, one of which was a trainee. We were ordering drinks, however no one was drunk for the most anyone was served was one and never asked again. I went up to the front desk to see if I could talk to the manager and have him give us more servers, at that time I looked around the building to see if they were busy in other stations but to my surprise there was only about fifteen or so other patrons in there. I waited for about 10 minutes for the manager to come talk to me, when he didn’t show, I returned to my spot at the table. The food came out with long periods between. People who ordered after I, received their food first. Personally I waited an hour for my food. There was a gentleman with us that had been there for probably fifteen or twenty minutes before me who never received his food, by this time most of us were finishing up, so we asked to speak to the manager once again. The manager Eric then came out he said he was sorry that they had lost his order, which I don't understand he ordered right after me on the same sheet. I noticed a person dressed very sloppy walk up and stand in the entry way to where our table was and ask “what's the big problem” and announced he was the head cook Anthony Taylor; however he was looking and acting like he was the bouncer and ready to brawl. They then brought out my friends food, which because of the attitude of the cook he declined and said he would just leave. As we were leaving the table the food then came back in a to-go bag, which my friend declined once again. As we were leaving the building the cook was holding the door for others to come in and making rude and uncalled for comments to our group and my friend, this continued out into the parking lot where the cook then announced his name again. Our group just walked to their cars and left the cook standing there making his comments. Is Eric in charge of the restaurant or the cook? I will say that every thing was cool and understandable until the bouncer cook came out and was so unprofessional and rude. The manager did offer to pay for my friend’s meal and apologized.
Our group meets for lunch several times through out the year and when we are treated in a professional manner we always keep the same restaurant for our meeting place. We have never had a problem anywhere else we’ve been. This situation was handled so poorly and unprofessional it made the whole experience uncomfortable for everyone in our group. Our group was neither obnoxious nor loud to warrant the treatment we received.
I have worked for the public with a police Dept. and in customer service situations and never treated a customer disrespectful like our group was treated. I have my own business and if one of my employees behaved the way your cook did he would not be employed by me anymore. I realize the only way for you to know what goes on in your restaurants is feedback. So here is your feedback, I hope you use it in a helpful way at your Puyallup location.

Thanks for your time.

Here are my comments, as forwarded to TGIF HQ: I was a member of the gathering you've no doubt heard so much from, at the Puyallup store, 02/21/06. We are a large, friendly group of locals who get together about once a month, most often at your facility. All of us are hard working, honest, law abiding citizens. Several among us are present or former law enforcement personnel. We may have a few loud laughs over lunch, but none of us is an unruly patron, or heavy drinker. As such, it is difficult to comprehend the attitude and behavior of your cook. Granted, no one is pleased to hear complaints from customers. However, I can vouch for the civil, polite, if not outright restrained demeanor exhibited by my colleagues in the presence of your staff. Had any LEO's in the group identified themselves, your cook's behavior was just short of earning a nice ride in a big, white sedan. We have careers and reputations to uphold, therefore it would be highly unlikely to find us threatening, intimidating, or otherwise abusing restaurant employees for any reason. In light of the fact that I was given cups of truly cold coffee to keep me busy for the hour and twenty minutes I waited for a simple side of french fries, I cannot say, with any degree of certitude, that I, or my cohorts, will be returning to this TGIF restaurant. We like to have an enjoyable get together, a satisfying meal and decent service. For this, we are usually generous, both in our orders, as well as in our tipping. Considering the number of patrons involved, as well as the number of people we will end up telling, your employee's attempt to "show us who's tough" will undoubtedly mean the loss of a great deal of revenue for your restaurant. Had my experience been as positive as this one was negative, I likely would have written you a tremendous "attaboy" for your staff. I wish you better luck with your pre-employment screening in the future. signed, me Personally, I hope they staple copies of our letters to The Omelette Killer's forehead!
