I broke my stupid can opening tool with my Wolf sardine can.  It's warped and bent to hell as I was trying to get the can of ammo open.  Low and behold, the wolf ammo I bought is still shamefully trapped in the can.. lol... and my tool is warped like mad.

Is there an easier way to get these open?  I tried the tool every way possible and I couldn't get this thing open for crap.

***Edited<va-gunnut>*** After just finishing my AR and reviewing how important it is for nothing to happen to my gun, I pretty much decided to stick with m193.

For future referance though, I'd like to know how the hell you get these things open... at least I know this thing would survive even if zombies were gnawing on it

Anyways, I'd prefer NOT to ship it, rather just have a person to person cash for ammo hand off or something, and if you aren't too far I don't mind driving it out to ya, or maybe meeting you at a range for an outing.  I could include the tool, but.. I dunno you'd be better off with a fingernail file lol

Please list any items you wish to trade or sell in the EE. Thanks, va-gunnut

The seller should include the opener, James at the WAC show always has for me.

Grinders work pretty good, but the can should have the opener taped to it or field use.

VA, WA, they are almost the same. Except we don't have to put up with Gunrunner.

a big knife?  Well I have a sog seal pup, but I dont want to bust a 50$ knife on 50$ worth of ammo, and not get the ammo out!  :)  Can I just use a kitchen knife to pry it open on the corners or something?

I haven't even taken my AR out yet.  I've been too busy to find good range time.  Maybe I'll just say - hey, free 500 rnds of wolf to any WA arfcommer who wants to go to the range with me and show me the ropes ;)

Back in the Navy, I used to see the Mess Management Specialists (MSs)* on my ship open big-assed industrial cans of coffee with a big-assed kitchen knife.  Just stab the rim of the can where a can opener would normally go and repeat.

Have you tried a can-opener?  Maybe the hand-cranky type in the kitchen?  P-38 USGI can opener?

Adapt, improvise and overcome.

* Nowadays, someone decided that MSs could improve their self-esteem by being called Culinary Specialists (CS).  Yeah, right!
