I went shooting the morning with a couple friends that felt the need to buy some boomers this week. I got to shoot the Ruger Alaskan 480 and the S&W 500. One cylinder of each clearly proved to me that my 44's were plenty big enough. The 500 was way too much , I couldn't hit shit with it and the 480 was surprisingly tamer , not too much more than a hot 44 round and pretty accurate. For the price of ammo and sore paws, I'll stick to the 44's. It was raining like a bitch. Still was a great time, had plenty of ammo for the Garand to smooth out the flinches. You know when you have lived here to long when you come home soaking wet and still wearing a shit eating grin.  |
