Was at Costco in Issaquah yesterday, Just out of curiosity...Has ANYBODY ever bought one of those big ol' sacks of flour, rice etc when they went to Costco? I mean for years I have NEVER seen anybody with one of those 80lb sacks of rice, flour etc. on their cart. I'm sure some restaurant types might come in, but was just wondering if anyone with a family ever bought those? Holy Crap, how many meals could you make with one of those bags of rice!!! |
You support that anti establishment? ![]() mightyrighty.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-158.html |

The Ex bought one of those sacks of rice ONCE, years ago....the problem with that large of a sack, is that you end up putting it somewhere besides the kitchen or pantry, so you fill up a huge bin that will fit and the sack goes into the garage. Then you forget about it. Two years later (and many small bags of rice purchased) you find the old sack.

Probably with a couple of mice in the sack too.... I remember right after my wife and I got married we went to the "Price Club" (same thing) and I bought on of those 500 count Equal sweetner packet boxes. Took me about 5 years to use half of it! |

We buy both the large flour (50lb), rice(50lb, beans(25lb) and other baking stuff in bulk. The bride bakes alot and cooks 95%+ of our meals from scratch so she uses 150-200lbs of flour and 100-150lbs of rice each year, every thing is put into 5 gallon buckets and stored in the pantry and she uses it out of smaller 2.5 gallon buckets in the kitchen. ETA: IBC In Before CavVet , I figured you would be a little quicker on this one.
