As a newbie to the board and going to my first WAC show, I thought I would share my thoughts and get some feedback from you VETERANS to this show. It seemed awfully crowded (I was there from Noon to about 2:30). I was disappointed in the ammo selection (just the .223 ammo). Seems like there was plenty of other calibers available however. Not a whole lot of AR quality optics seemed to be on display (EO-Tech, Trijicon). Lots of excellent scopes, but red dots and the like seemed to be short on supply (except cheap stuff). I saw a guy selling Colt LE rifles across from Oly Arms and found that interesting. Bought a few tools, and new rifle case and a few odds and ends. Is the crowd due to a little AWB 'pre-panic' or is it always like that? Met some pretty nice folks and some of the dealers seeemed pretty helpful. Interesting cross section of "Americana"....Everybody have a great Superbowl Sunday!!! Don't get to "pie eyed"

I think its usually that crowded. Wait till the show before hunting season if you want to see crowded.

James had Q3131a, HSM 55, LC M855, assorted match ammo in the box and I bought 1K of HSM 62. The other guys had 223 also.

Another guy that went to the show and didn't bother to show up for lunch.

HABU....who is "James"? Is that the AMMO location you see when you walk in the first door? I talked with a guy at that location for a bit. He said they were associated with Outdoor Marksmen Corp? I saw some 62 grain Lake City green point and some Oly ammo, plus a ton of Wolf.

Right inside the door of the tent, the door that's closest to the entrance gate is MiWall (Outdoor Marksman is their online source) James is also in the tent but at the back of it.

I bought my first Eotech. So far I am digging it big time. Am going to run out and shoot some rounds with it tomorrow.

I'm going to the show on Sunday.  I think I'll have the place mostly to myself, and be able to really beat up vendors on their prices!    I'm not all that crazy about the StuporBowl, especially this year.  Almost as exciting as the "Subway" World Series a few years back... **YAWN**

Check with James first.  For example if you think you should order SA 7.62x51 from AIM because it's a couple of weeks until a show and you don't know if James will have it.  Email him!  www.surplusammo.com

Thanks Red.  I've got family in Spokane and Sandpoint, so that also tips the scales for CDA.  But we'll see what happens with all the bs-gun bills before I decide to move.  I probably should buy the dirt soon anyway, given how fast the real estate market is growing in northern Idaho....

A friend of mine recently quit as superintendant for a decent sized home builder in North ID. As of this week they're building 200+ homes in Post Falls/CDA this summer. Lotsa places to buy in subdivisions near the ID-WA I90 corridor. After my recent and never ending purse fight within my HOA I wont ever buy another home in a subdivision, looking for a house on a couple acres in MT myself.

Howdy Evergreen ARers,

Been to a couple'a Monroe shows, but the Puyallup show was much better. I bumped into a ton of folks, but I liked the size of the show. The prices were steep, but folks were up for some wranglin'. I hope we all support Washington gun shows, lest they go the way of Kalifornia's. Good shooting!

I'll be moving to MT myself in a couple months.  If you guys get out there let me know.  Maybe we could get together for some shooting.

Shoot!  I wish I'd thought to ask James directly.  The other guy who works at James tables told me it was $170/500.  I ended up getting 1K of HSM 55gr.  Didn't know they had it in 62gr. either.  I guess that give me an excuse to buy another 1K next month.

BTW:  How well does the HSM stuff shoot?  As compared to the M193 spec stuff?  I know its a reload and all, but I got it as "shoot-up" ammo not SHTF stock, so I figured it'd be OK.

He must have had a brain fart right then and though they were cases of 500 and not 1,000 (the "other guy" is who I actually picked my stuff up from), but had I been told $170/500 I woudl have said "HUH?!!!!"

1,000 HSM is on my shopping list for next week, if I can find the money in my budget.

It seems crowded to me with the new arrangements. I miss the one old big building.

5.56 is in short suppply everywhere, but its there. As they said, James is the man, MiWall is a close second, and they both have what you need, so far.

Not a whole lot of AR quality optics seemed to be on display (EO-Tech, Trijicon). Lots of excellent scopes, but red dots and the like seemed to be short on supply (except cheap stuff).

I know Marty was in the upper room, new building with all the MagPull & EoTech you culd ever want. Kooter and myself both picked one up from him.

Is the crowd due to a little AWB 'pre-panic' or is it always like that?

I noticed the parking lot seemed a little fuller than normal, so that is possible, but like I said, its the new arrangements. The tent is small and so is the building. There just isnt any room.

There are some great folks, and there were some great arfcommers that had a nice lunch Saturday.

Welcome & C ya there next time!

James has 62 grain M855. The 62 HSM was a special loading he had HSM do for me. M855 shoots better out of my rifles, so I wanted to see how the 62 HSM compared.

Picked up a Mega lower from Clinton.  I saw Scorpion34 there as well.  I got there after church so people were packing up.  I'm glad I got to pick up the Mega.  I don't know how they put the anodizing on but I really like the look of the Mega black vs all my other lowers.

I bought a DMPS kit, I got 2 bolt catch roll pins but no bolt catch buffer.  Man, it eeks me to see that someone doesn't double check these kits.  I strongly don't think I lost the piece because I lined up all the pieces before I got started.

Where do I pick up one spare piece like that?

I imagine more people came on Saturday since the Superbowl was on Sunday.  Even though it didn't start until 3:30PM, I bet there were lots of parties that started around noon or so.  If the Superbowl had been a different weekend, the crowds would have likely been more spread out.  I was there today, and it was decidedly NOT crowded.  My friend did pick up a deal on a Sub 2000 from Stokes though, so he was "stoked" about getting it...

I like it.  In fact that is all I ever shoot at the ARFCOM get togethers.  It's pretty clean and as accurate as I am (not that that says much!).  And not to mention CHEAP!!

Any chance of you posting a review of the 62 HSM after testing?  M855 works better for me as well.   If the HSM overall shoots as well for me as for everyone else, I'll probably go with them for my ordinary shooting ammo and save the IMI stuff for when the SHTF.  Especially if I could get it in 62gr.  BTW: Did getting them to do a special loading of 62gr. cost any extra?  The 55 HSM I got this weekend went for $130/1000.

He charged me 160/K for the 62 HSM. Next time I'm at the range I'll compare notes on several different types of ammo.
