I am about to apply for a Concealed Pistol License in King County. Do you guys know if open-carry is allowed in the state of Washington? Thanks. |
Washington is an open carry state but the laws that they apply say that if a person feels threatened by seeing your exposed sidearmed and calls the police it is up to the police whether they charge you with brandishing or not. In areas where I know the badged bandits and the black robed robbers i will open carry as a way to educate people if i am in a commie county like King county then i carry concealed. |

from Washington State Gun Rights an Responsibilities[i/] by Dave Workman Do NOT be confused about Washington's allowance of so-called "open carry". The concept of "Open Carry" here does not grant private citizens blanket authority to carry a loaded handgun openly in public! Take the author's advice: Don't do this! as a future new CPL holder I recommend you pick up this book and get on the WA-CCW email list too. |

Aha! I knew we'd gone over this recently www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=15&t=186199 |
Huh? I don't recall seeing a thread where we discussed open carry in WA and cited any court cases. Just because I don't recall it doesn't mean that we haven't had it though. |
Yes this subject was debated in great deal with a link to KABA that had actual court cases of people areested for open carry with the judges opinion of the RCW stated. You can open carry in Washington state but if a person sees the arm and feels threatened and calls the police the DA can make it hard on said right exerciser if it so desires. It all boils down to how much you want to fight for rights,

Fine I said that I don't recall such a thread, I haven't researched court decisons on it either. Feel free to present the information. |
