Congrats on finding what you wanted you Scout Nut! Being from Springfield, Ohio, A big place for Navistar (formerly International Harvester),I knew a lot of people who had scouts and always loved them. Good luck! I saw a pile of parts on ebay once upon a time if you ever need any. |

Now that you live here in the Pacific Northwest, you can unbolt all that A/C stuff and put it in a box under your work bench. Good find. You'll have to keep us updated on the progress once you start modifying it, and we know scouts/jeeps/early broncos beg for modifying. |
i have been to springfield, ohio. that is where a place called super scout specialists is. they are the biggest dealer of scout parts and accessories. they have an annual scout show every year at the same time as the big car show. i've bought and sold lots of scout parts off of ebay over the years. great place to find used parts |
You know scouts/jeeps/early broncos and you still suggested taking all the A/C stuff off instead of leaving the compressor on and rigging up an OBA system? Kooter, I'm not really into Scouts, but there appears to be at least a couple of real Scout freaks over at SNORT 4x4. Good luck with the Scout. Hopefully once I get a couple of other things out of the way and a little more time, I can tear into my Jeep. See you out on the trails. |

i'm planning on putting an OBA setup on it. it will have to wait until this summer probably. i can tear out the rest of the air system and sell it on ebay, that should bring enough money in that i can get the switch over done. the guy said that the air might just need a recharge, but if it gets hot enough for me to need air, i'll just take the top off |
i lived up here until i was 18, only been gone for about 8 years or so. plus i was able to get almost live on satellite down in kentucky |
is it up near hobart/maple valley? the guy i bought this one off of had a yellowish-orangish with black stripes down the side also for sale. my brother in law had a sweet 69 bronco. he (stupidly) sold it and has regretted that ever since |
Err... I meant the dash controls and venting system, etc. ;) Need a big fat alternator with the OBA system too, to set up an on board DC welder. R-32, I suggest '76-77 Bronco. You would not regret it. :) |
