I'm looking for a lawyer who specializes in geriatric issues located in the Northampton area of PA. Our dad is 84 years old and a Korean veteran with two Bronze Stars. He has been exploited by an individual to the tune of $140,000 and has now been declared incapacitated by the courts. He will be removed from his home by force for his own protection and incarcerated due to his alleged illness. My brother and I respected the POA and tried like hell to prevent him from being exploited due to no avail ,his stubbornness and simply we don't reside in PA. As a result the of PA elder care law requires you to reside in PA. Inasmuch as my brother and I don't live in PA guardianship was appointed by the courts to handle his estate . My brother is in CA and we want to remove the appointed guardian by the courts and move our dad to CA where the weather is better, senior programs are much better and it will be much more cost effective to maintain our dads legacy.
Thanks very much for the help Dan |

If you believe that your father has been financially exploited, you also need to call the Northampton County District Attorney. He has detectives that can forensically look at those expenditures and if they are exploitation, the persons can be criminally charged. Unfortunately that happens all the time in this state with it's large graying population. Here is the listing of various resources from PA's Senior Law Directory for Northampton County.

| I have a buddy Matt Banks, who I've used personally, and know many others who have, with a wide variety of issues. website he has very good contacts within the courts, which helps a lot, and will go to war for you, but he doesn't do it like most lawyers. If you search his name you will find some good reviews. Let me know if you want me to see if he can help, and get you two in touch. |
