What is up with the economy in Reading? I was scrolling around with "Zillow" and it looks like every other house is for sale or in foreclosure!
http://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/days_sort/40.374144,-75.868664,40.25739,-76.047878_rect/11_zm/ The real estate market is bad here, near Atlantic City, due to the amount of Casino/Hotel cutbacks, but Reading looks worse. (I am relocating soon ... I have property in WV but my wife doesn't like mountains and wants to be closer to friends and relatives in Philly) |

It was OK at first but the traffic was awful by the time I left in '02. It's a very expensive area too. I live in Lancaster County now & like it a lot. Low cost of living & close to Philly & Baltimore. |

Thanks for the heads up, guys! I started looking into some places in the Lancaster area .... TAXES ... they seem high.
I have 50 acres of Potomac riverfront in WV and even there they raised taxes on me... there is a small rancher and a barn on the land ... they raised the taxes from $92 to $94 for the year! My taxes in Atlantic County are comparable, however. I'll keep you posted. If you have any other ideas and all that ... |
