hey everyone
Its my birthday on veterans day, and I am going up to your lovely state from Sunday to Monday. I plan on going up to the cigars international Hamburg store, hang out at the cabelas, and then relax and go to Bethlehem brewers. Then on Monday, we are going to go to the yeungling factory and then back to the communist state of Maryland. I am looking for any fun things to see or do up that way. Thanks |

Well, if you use the cigar shop as a point of origin, I-78 west will get you to a huge model railroad layout called Roadside America.
Less than 15min from where 61 crosses over 78. If you go East, you'll see signage for Crystal Cave. Pioneer Coal Tunnel is, unfortunately, closed for the season. That would be off 61 north in Ashland. Takes you into a once working Anthracite Mine plus they have a small musuem there. Other then what you already have plans to see, that's about it right now. Most everything else it closed for the season. BTW,

Go East on rt I78
Got to the last exit in PA Easton PA. At the top of the ramp you will see a big fireworks store- You as a non resident CAN buy fireworks there. PA residents can not. Then cross over rt I78 and make your first left, go to the stop sign and make another left. Then take your first right and your on Hilton Street. There on Hilton street you will find Sarco. Parts, parts, parts and interesting stuff. Also on Hilton street about 200, yards down is Heritage Guild a super slick gun store with a range. They rent guns for the range and have ammo for the rental guns. Oh heck, I forgot. When you are at Cabelas you are only a few miles from Dixon's Muzzleloading shop in Kempton PA. Dixon's is a wonderland for flintlocks and traditional side locks ( NO inlines !!!) I would call Dixon's a must see and often you can find super deals on used black powder guns. |
