By water gap, do you mean the Delaware Water Gap? By camping, do you mean car camping or hiking out into the woods and camping? |

yes deleware water gap. and more so park truck and hike to a location to camp. in a place where i cant be bothered for being there. dont want to do anything wrong I've only hiked Mt. Tammany and to Sunfish Pond so I've never camped there, but I recall there being a campsite about 2 miles south of Sunfish Pond. There is a place to park near the Appalachian Trail and I remember thinking it must have been for the campers because it was so full at 8 AM when I arrived. If you are crossing into NJ from PA on Route 80 East, you basically take the second exit on your right after the toll bridge, turn left to pass under Route 80 and then another left to drive parallel to Route 80 West for a very short distance until you see the parking lot on your right. The signs at the parking lot specifically mention campsites but I've no idea where the site is itself. >>Warning<<: I am not sure if the left turn to go under Route 80 is completely legal. I have only done this route twice and from what I recall it seemed like the turn was into a one-way (going opposite to traffic) street, but I could be remembering it wrong. Be very careful that you don't get into a head-on collision taking the above directions. |
