| Any good gun smiths in SE PA that can do a good job at cutting down a barrel on a Poly M14s ? |
|
I've heard good things about this shop:
Donely's in Quakertown There's also another guy in Chalfont that I've heard good things about, CDI Gun Shop in Chalfont (215) 996-1603 . I don't have any experience with either, but I have my eye on these two for future work. Let us know how you make out. John |

| Blackwidow, I use CDI Custom Knife and Gun in Chalfont exclusively. Sean Reed is an extremely knowledgable armorer and gifted custom gunsmith. I recommend his work without reservations of any kind. Do yourself a favor and call him at (215) 996-1603. He will go out of his way to make you happy and he puts a real priority on promptness. His work is exacting and he does not beleive in stopping at "good enough." |

Thank you very much for the plug, my pork-eating friend.
By the way, your CMP issued 1917 rifle was just this morning dropped off at the shop. As usual, there is NO charge for CMP transfers for N.J. residents- All in the name of thumbing the state of N.J. in the eye! |

Cool, I plan to move to pa in the next year and my inlaws are in chalfont. Is there a nfa friendly range nearby as we may stay for a few weeks next year after the little redneck is born. "only asking here since a few people are in that area" Just sbr's and cans as I donot want to travel that far with my f/a for just a week or two trip.
Eta: I am happy to see a reptuable smith near there as I will need some work done in the future and hate sending it off! |

Right here in beautiful, bucolic Chalfont is Target World. They allow full auto, SBR and Etc. but ONLY in pistol caliber. I can not recommend the place as their primary range employee (Brian) is rather an officious prick and seems to have a knack for rubbing folks in just exactly the wrong direction.
Furthermore, the sales staff is lacking in knowledge and overly impressed with their ability. Do NOT, under any circumstances send in an unescorted female loved one as they will be treated to a sexist ignore/condescension fest. Apart from that ringing endorsement, there is Classic Pistol in South Hampton- they also allow full auto but I have heard that they are now restricting it to pistol caliber only. In the past they would permit rifle caliber full-auto and I once took my select-fire '16 for a walk there. It was a nice place and well run- the polar opposite of Target World. On the gunsmith front, Classic Pistol has John Robinson. Try as I might, I can not find anyone who has a bad word to say about him. Although we have never met, we share a few friends in common. He comes well recommended. I can take in NFA work for repair, but can not transfer NFA items- Feel free to call the shop or email if you are in the neighborhood and stop by for a chat. -Sean |

Just googled your business, may have to stop by since your a mile or so from my inlaws, we are comming that way at xmas for a few days but it may be hard to come by since my wife is 6+ months pregnant. Ahh yes target world, went there back in july and had a decent laugh when the guy behind the counter had tactical gloves pimping out a lmt.
Eta: I forgot to mention the savage .22 bolt action with a cracked stock for $325 was a laugh, not a older model either
