Hey guys, i jsut wanted to introduce myself here. Im a long time lurker on the boards, and wanted to get more involved. Ive been shooting ARs and similar rifles for years, my current go to gun is a sig 556 patrol swat backed up by a 9mm hk p2000. I just attained residency in pennsylvania after leaving the people's republic of new york (thank god!) and havent had much time to meet people since ive been so busy with school. if any of you guys are down for a shoot one of these days let me know.
i also want to get involved with some training, carbine and handgun. and i want to get my carry permit. any advice on any of these things?

thanks in advance guys, from what i can tell this board is full of good men with good heads on their shoulders

Welcome aboard.  There are two practical rifle programs which are popular here.  One is held at the Langhorne Rod and Gun Club.  The other is at New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club.  Look for details in this very forum.

Okay I will look into that, thanks a lot. Also, I've never had problems purchasing guns before, but I got delayed when i went to pick up a new H&K the other day. i just got my license here last week, is that possibly the reason for the delay? i have nothing in my background prohibiting me from purchasing or owning firearms

For information on obtaining your License to Carry Firearms (LTCF) in Pennsylvania, check out the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association (PAFOA) forums. It's a relatively easy and cheap process, although Philadelphia does what they can to make it a little more difficult.

You can also find information about group shoots and training at PAFOA, and some of that information is posted here as well.

It's possible that you were delayed, or "put into research", because you have a new Pennsylvania driver's license. It's also possible that you have a name and/or birthdate similar to that of someone who may be prohibited from firearms possession, and the people at PICS are checking into your background. Using your social security number when filling out the PICS paperwork reduces the chances that you'll be mis-identified.

Im living in University City/West philly i guess, im right near drexel campus and a few blocks east of penn. I used to live in eastern sufolk county NY, east hampton to be exact. loved it out there, but we had NO rights, just pretty beaches. i drive an F150 and it *had* to be a "commercial vehicle" because its too big...so our lack of rights extend past just guns. stupid frustrating stuff

Are you a student?

Did you find your way into Cereality yet?

Mill Creek Tavern is a pretty cool place out that way. I haven't been there in a while. But they used to have really good food too.

And if you meet a little girl (size, not age) named Lizzy,
RUN LIKE HELL !!  She's F-ing nuts! Like N.V.T.S nuts !!
Great in bed, but crazy!! LoL

watch your back in that area, it borders on some really shitty 'hoods.
