I would like opinions on this. A guy is confronted by a couple of people during an altercation in Philadelphia. He walks away and they follow him a half of block. He pulls his guns ( VA carry permit ) to see if that would scare them off but one decides to attack anyway. He shoots the person at close range, the person shot is in the hospital and the shooter was charged with attempted murder, aggregated assault and several other firearm violations. I'm sorry to me it seems like self defense. Several people died in Philadelphia in the last year after altercations like this but didn't have a weapon to defend themselves with. This Philadelphia forum covers the incendent and I'm wondering if they were in the situation the shooter was in.

| from reading all the news on this to me it looks like self-defense, three against one. But you know how lawyers are they will tell you the man who charged him did not have a weapon and was not a threat, and with a VA permit they will find some BS loophole for a charge on gun posession, I hope he finds a great defense lawyer who can show is life was in danger other wise he's going to jail. |
| Well if so, I know someone close to the victims family that saw the survailence tape. Based on her description, I didn't sound like self defence. If this is the case with the Temple law student, its all on video, so the truth will come out. BTW, in this case the victim was shot 5 times. |

I live 3 blocks from where this happened.
If it started where they said he was doing pull-ups the victim followed the suspect for over a half of city block before he was shot. If it started in a club like has been stated in a report the victim followed the suspect for two blocks before he was shot. So the suspect kept walking and the victims group kept following him so when he felt his safety was in danger he pulled his gun hoping to defuse the situation. Apparent it didn't work and a person in the group charged throwing punches so he fired until the suspect fell. To me this is self defense. People are beat to death by groups of people in Philadelphia every year. |
