I'm in Exeter, just East of the city.

I can tell you what shops NOT to go in.

PM me for info.

You will have no trouble getting a concealed carry permit here in Berks...  The forms can be downloaded online. Not sure what the residency requirements are though.

STAY AWAY FROM GUN GALLERY.

Good shops:

Gun Traders on Route 61

Enck's Gun Barn in Newmanstown, PA

Richland Shooter's Supplies in Richland, PA

There's also a Cabela's in Hamburg.  Usually not very good gun prices, but sometimes they do have sales that are really good.

.....You will have no trouble getting a concealed carry permit here in Berks... .

And if you plan on spending any time near downtown Reading, a CCW is highly recommended.

I stay out of the city unless it's absolutely necessary.

When I DO go into or through the city, my spidey-sense is all jacked up.  Keep the windows up, the doors locked, and a loaded gun at the ready.

Sinking Spring isn't bad at all, nor is Mt Penn or Exeter...
The Berkshire Mall is about the only mall in the area that hasn't been over-run by Mexicans.  Stay away from the Fairgrounds Mall at all cost. It's like taking a trip to Tijuana. Muhlenburg Twp seems to be the main Mexican corridor into the city of Reading...  5th St hwy is Rt222 business going thru the city... 222 North runs to Allentown, Rt78, NYC, etc...

When you leave Sinky... just drive around the city on 422east into Exeter...   We haven't been over-run yet with illegals, but they are still floating around here like leftover turds after the flush.

Actually Sinky has been going slowly but steadily down the toilet for a number of years. The low income project they built off S. Hull St started the ball rolling and it just keeps going faster. My mother was a lunch aide for years at the old elementary school, by the time she retired 1st and 2nd graders were using the f-word to her face. A few months ago I was leaving my parents house and while standing on the front porch with my Dad we watched 2 "individuals" complete a transaction 30 feet away in broad daylight. Look at Penn Avenue, the whole business district is almost gone.

My parents are looking for a new place, looking at the old neighborhood I can see why.

OP, you are not "in" Sinking Spring, you are probably in Lower Heidelburg Twp, not a bad area, lots of developments. Sinky is the nearest town so they use it for reference. No biggie, I remember the lake area before the lake. At the State Hill boat launch there's what used to be a road coming out of the woods by the parking area. That's where we parked the last time we hunted that area, before it went under. If you have any other questions feel free to p/m me, I still get over there from Lanco once in a while.

Oh, WELCOME TO FREE AMERICA!!!!!

Seneca Arms in Green Lane is in reasonable driving distance and I have had nothing but good experiences there.   The owner, John Sylvester, is one of the top service rifle shooters today, and a member here.
