| I was in Claytons sporting good. They had .223 in cases but the one case was 700 bucks.. Are you freaking kidding me, no way would I buy ammo at that price. All the local wally worlds in 50 square milesof me are out of 223. Claytons did have a good amount of AR's - I saw one 969.00 olypica or something like that.. Lots of Glocks and XD's -subs and reg.... |

I kinda like Claytons. I know the guys their are grumpy but they do seem to carry in stock a lot of guns and ammo.
I usually stop by with my wife and kids and get some gelato from the ice cream parlor next door (cheaper and better than Rita's) While my family is eating ice cream outside, I sneak into Claytons and look around. Now Clayton's prices may be high but sometimes you can find something you just got to have. I got 500 rds of West German 7.62x51 ammo ( 20 PATRONEN 7.62 mm x51, DM 41 Weichkern LOS MS 76-62) at 12.99 per box of 20. 65 cents per round is a little high for berdan primed brass ammo but this is the stuff that has a mild steel jacket and soft lead core. Its supposed to be pretty accurate and fragments like M193. I bought up all I could find. They had Wolf .308 and Privi .308 also priced at 12.99 per box of 20. 30 rd AR15 pmags no window were $22.00 each, GSG-5 22rd mags were in stock at $33.00 each. I think they had 3-50rd ps90 mags for about $90.00 each. Lots of AK and AR15 ( Arsenal SLR107FR for 1000.00), Colt SP1 for about 2K. Lot of AK mags. I like Tanners but they don't seem to have as much stuff as Clayton's. Only rifle at Tanner's that was interesting was a Russian Tiger Dragunov for $3500.00 but it was gone as of last week. They also have not received their first shipment of FN SCAR. Hard to believe since they are an FN dealer and they had the best prices for PS90. |

I found a can(200rds) of 7.62 NATO on links at Claytons a little while back, 1:4 tracers.. Got it for $80.. the can was covered in torn off labels, hmmm.
Im sure they bought it from someone at the NAS Willow Grove armory who just happened to "come across" it.. The base rifle team is given tens of thousands of 7.62 ball to practice with and they(the armory) recieved 17K rds on linked belts last year specifically allocated for rifle team members and it all disappeared and we were not able to check any out last year for practice.. Funny a can showed up across the street around the same time... |
| Guess what Shipmate I am the Willow Grove Base Armorer and there was never any linked ammo allocated to the shooting team. That was ammo intended for something else and we had arranged to bring it out so that the members of the team would not have to buy their own ammo. And I personally kept track of every round and turned back in what was not expended! I take my job very serious and would never let a thing like that happen under my watch! So next time you open your mouth make sure that you know what you are talking about! If you want to continue this feel free to come to my office, but my guess is that you won't show up! |
. They're usually higher in price than my local shop. If I'm near them I will stop in but I like Tanners better.
