Can anyone tell me if I am allowed to carry while visiting Gettysburgh. My family and I will be there in April and can't wait. I want to be able to carry but I am unsure of the law regarding this kind of state/federal/? park and weapons. Thanks for the help. |

Quoted:
If you are from out of PA NO you can't carry a firearm. If you are living in PA and have a carry permit, you can as I carry mine all over the state of PA when I travel(but only in PA). Ok I have a PA LTCF so that makes me legal to carry in PA but not in the parks I am lost I should have went to law school lol. |

From their website.
The possession of weapons is prohibited throughout the park with the following exception: As of January 9, 2009, the possession of a concealed firearm is permitted in accordance with the Laws of the State of Pennsylvania as codified in 18 PA.C.S. § 6106. If you have a Pa LTC. you are good to go. |

Thanks for all the info guys Get the Game Bird PotPie at the Farnsworth House. It's a pot pie stuffed with turkey, duck and pheasant. Not only is the food there really good, but they have lots of memorabilia from the movie Gettysburg. Worth a stop for sure. |

"The Pub" in the square has great cream of crab soup, great wings, and all types of beer you could want. Dobbin House is also good, and close to the main side of the parks. When did you say you were coming? ETA: Are you driving or flying? Change of plans we are coming next week!! We will be driving it's like a 3 hour trip from my moms where we will be staying. I plan on staying over night but we will see what the wife says

| Any gun enthusiast worthy of the moniker must visit the Samuel Colt Heritage Museum in the center of Gettysburg. Displayed are examples every major Colt from the Patterson up to the M16. There's even a short-barreled Gatling gun designed for use from the back of camels! Many of the examples have single digit serial numbers. It's been about ten years since I was last there, so it wouldn't surprise me if they don't have even more displays. |

OK the trip was great the weather could have been better on Thursday but Friday was nice. Kids loved it wife loved it the Wyndham Gettysburg was just the best damn hotel ever. The pool was too cold. There were no events that took place so that was a good thing foe my first time CCW. Thanks to all who gave me great info. Next trip is to Badlands SD in July. |
