Can anyone recommend a shop that does computer hardware repair in SE PA? The laptop I'm typing this on (Dell Inspiron 2200) has a loose power port connection. When plugged in the plug must be in a certain position or the power switches on and off. Power to battery, but it's running on battery. It's highly annoying. |

dell parts are almost impossible to get. i am a dell certified tech, working for a hospital, once they are out of warranty we have to get parts from an authorized service provider. what a pita. with dell, as far as i know, you can't order small parts like a power connector. you need to order the entire motherboard. depending on how old it is, it may be more cost effective to replace the laptop. with fujitsu, we can order and replace every little part, unlike dell. |
