I love the 105.  Did one myself.  Started from a 74 kit of course.  The brake is ak-usa's and is welded.

Finish is durabake enamel.

nice 105 man,... mine is not quite finished yet,.... but it is a little shorter

runs like a raped ape,..but i still have to correct one small problem,. but it started as a AKS-74 kit and got chopped down for the AK-102/4/5,..   FS/GB,.. added one of the Arsenal sidefolders,. and that got me most of the way there. the rest of the build was cake thanks to the NDS reciver

i am going to finsh it with the same finish as on the SA-M5,.. but i am waiting for payday so i can get a AK-USA booster and Krebs selector.

I like it.  Nice job.  It looks like you're setting it up to be more of a runner than mine is.  With this one, I was aiming for authenticity.  I"ve got an OD green 100 series 74 that I call "booger" that's got some of the high-speed-low-drag parts you're talkin' about.  Ergo grip, etc.  Gonna try an ultimak with an EOTech up front next.....

I"ve had great luck with the duracoat/durabake products as far as finish goes.

Glad your build went well, and hope to see you out soon.

well i thought about doing a all Russian AK-105 off of a Saiga,.. but finding all of the orginal Russian parts would have drove me batty,...not to mention broke.

this one is just a chopped up Bulgarian kit built on a American reciver,.. paid the stamp and and went to work on it,..so i am going to make sure i get every penny's worth out of it,.. if you knew how i treated the other homebuilt AKS-74 i have you would understand why i did not bother with keeping it along the lines of a pure Russian/Bulgarian AK-105. dont get me wrong,... i am a pureist with some of my AK's,...but not all of them.

i added the siderail so i think i am going to go with a Kobra at some point,. as well as a high speed laser set-up on a Ultimak,.. but for now i have to many other stamps to pay for to worry about it. i did change out the topcover for one of the Saiga smooth top covers i had collecting dust,. so once i get it refinished with all of the H.S-L.D parts it should have a nice "Evil & Sleek" look to it.

how did they shorten your cleaning rod? will it still work with the cleaning brush?

actually,. the "beercan" flash suppressor have on it in my picture it really is not that loud if you are next to me or behind me on the line,...now if you are out front,.. it would sound like a Howiziter,.. just the way the cone inside is shaped,. i just wish it did more to reduce the recoil.

now the brake on the full sized AKS-74 sidefolder is much louder due to the shape of the brakes chambers,... but it will pretty much eliminate any felt recoil,. but you end up with a basketball sized fireball at the end of the barrel because of it.

no idea what the finial booster/brake will sound like though.

Okay.  If it's tax-stamp time, I'll bring out my "little bastard."

Yugo M92 with a sidefolder on it.  All my sidefolders were done before Nodak came out with that receiver.  I'm tellin' another bro to get that receiver because I'm quite tired of doing all the machining on the ass end of these.  Even with a milling machine it's difficult.

My 105 was a fixed stock during the ban, but I tore it apart and put it on a new receiver.  If you have a lathe you can cut and re-thread the rod.  I would never put that thing down my bore anyway, so I just cut the damn thing.

I hear ya on the auth-builds, mine too.  Some are 100% pure, some are not.

I was originally looking for a bulgie 7.62x39 krink, but wound up with this.  I'm SO GLAD I did.  The M92 kit is SO much more robust than the bulgie krink.  The top cover is twice as thick, the parts fit is more precise, it's just built like a real soldier's rifle rather than officer candy.  I tell people all the time THIS is the krink to have, if you're having only one.

This muzzle device is a brake/flash hider.  It's only called a flash hider because it too hides from the giant fireball out front.

Loud?   I could kill a person with blanks at close range.
