| I expect to be up in Pittsburgh in early July, and I've got a friend who wants me to take her to the range while we're up there. I'm completely clueless about how the laws are there or if there's any good ranges close around (we'll be staying at the Westin Convention Center Hotel). Can I bring my AR? Can I bring my 1911 (I'm under 21; it's legal for me to have it here in VA, but I dunno about PA)? |

Your public range options are limited. There is an indoor range open to the public: http://www.anthonyarms.com/ And the PA Game Commission has public outdoor ranges, the nearest to the city is gamelands #203. Here is a map of the gamelands, which are located just off the Wexford exit of I-79: http://www.pgc.state.pa.us/pgc/game/maps/zoom_maps.asp?sgl=203&rgn=Southwest&submit.x=18&submit.y=9 The gameland range has restrictions that make shooting an AR substantially less fun than it should be (single load). The good news is tht the gameland range is free, and if you're just showing someone how to shoot for the first time, it is certainly adequate. |
