| The next Pennsylvania Gun Collectors Association gun show will be held here. Anyone know the policy there for CCW. I hate going to gun shows unarmed. |
|
They're having it at Blade Runners in Harmarville? Maybe I missed something but where in the heck is it going to be in there? On the ice? Maybe I can lace up my old skates and skate around with my rifle on my back! ![]() Of course its been a while since I've been there. It might have something I never saw like an open area for a gun show. |
| So what does everyone think of the new venue? IMO it's way too small for a show the size of those put on by PGCA. The space between rows was about perfect for the average Ethiopian. The single entrance/exit through the rink boards left me cold. God help us if the place had to be cleared quickly in the event of fire, nut job with a loaded weapon, etc. The parking situation left something to be desired as well, although it wasn't as bad as I'd anticipated. All in all a loser of a day. Oh well, at least I had lunch at Uncle Sam's in the Waterworks. |

Too crowded. Nice to have a choice of restaurants within walking distance. In my opinion, the PGCA needs to lease two of the ice rinks. Even though the tables were filled, I was disappointed in the fact that I didn't see the big dealers that have old parts for sale. I'll bet there were vendors that got turned down and didn't get tables. I thought the show two weeks ago at Washington County Fairgrounds was a better show! Dave |

I was disappointed and won't be back. Not much ammo, lots to look at if you're a deer or pheasant hunter, but that's about it. I got a box of Ranger +P ammo for my 9mm, a couple 20 round AK magazines and a speed loader for my S&W 642. It's not worth the $6 for my son and I anymore. It wasn't a completely wasted trip though, we went down to Pianos N Stuff afterwards and picked up a used Squire strat guitar in good shape for $75. |
When I was setting up my tables Friday evening I was very discouraged. It was obvious the aisles were too narrow and the place generally too small. I was concerned that they would be compelled to turn people away for over-capacity and fire codes but I don't think that happened. When I received my application for this show they purposefully exlcuded non PGCA exhibitors from renting tables, probably due to the limited capacity of oeb rink. That might be why some of the regular vendors weren't there. They also hinted that they might expand and rent two rinks and I'm assuming that would be based on turn out and feedback. I think it's a shame that there are no suitable venues in all of SW PA for a friggin gun show. Just goes to show we're viewed as a pariah in the eyes of the local politicians and business community. This is just a rumor but I had a patron tell me that parents of children who patronize blade runners are lodging complaints that children using the rest of the facility were in such proximity to guns. |

Tony, thanks for the deal on the AK mags and the pouch to carry them in. I talked to another vendor and he also heard that the parents were very upset about the gun show. He is a long time table holder and he was not happy with this show and it's location. I myself was not to happy about what the vendors had to offer. I could not find any 7.62x39 except for a guy thgat was selling surplus ammo cans, 330 rounds per can, 2 cans per box at $130.00 or $5.00 for a box of 20. I did however pick up a drum mag for what I thought was a good price. |
It wouldn't surprise me. While I waited in that ridiculously long line to pay my entrance fee, a Caucasian woman with a young Asian boy walked through the area twice. The look on her face was anything but friendly towards the couple of guys with rifles slung over their shoulders. |
