| Since nobody else has started one I will. Lets have a thread for our hunting adventures or misadventures. Post pics of harvests, tell stories of the hunt, and when and where you killed the beast. Dont forget to tell us what you used to kill it. Good luck and Stay safe. |

Ok here is my opening day report: Went to Uncles house in the East Brady area. We got in the woods around 6:30. Right after dark we saw a doe run between me and my cousins hunting posts but no shot was there. Went in and out of the woods a few times all day and all I saw was a few tails haulin ass away from me. My cousin managed to get a shot off at a big doe but it was in full sprint. He is mad its been 2 years since he was able to hunt (Due to a tour in the sandbox). He was really looking forward to hitting anything today. He went back in when I was leaving hope he got something. Well hope I can have a better report saturday. It should be against the law to have to work during hunting season |
No luck here. Good luck to all through the season!!

I scored today with a 7-pointer. It would be an 8 if the one brow tine was a leeetle bit bigger, but I'm happy. Was out at 7am, just snoopin' & poopin' through the woods, not seeing anything. I found some decent rubs that weren't there during bear season, so I was hoping no one bagged him on Monday. Made it to one of my posts and kind of dozed, cat-napped. Sat up and about 2 minutes later I see a doe heading right for me. She got within about 20yds and almost jumped out of her skin. She ran off about 30yds and tried the foot stomp/snort thing. I guess she couldn't wind me. Then I saw him starting to walk away. I never saw him as he was standing behind some thick brush. Took me 4 freaking hours to drag him out as I was hunting about 2 miles in from my truck. Man, I'm a beat puppy. I bumped into a guy as I was almost at my truck and he said someone got a real nice 8-pointer on Monday. Supposed to have a 20" spread. Must have been the one I saw during bear season. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid148/p170a2f55f5b8c05043589f0e0c6798bb/f6112bf9.jpg |

http://tinypic.com/psv8g Here is the ten point. And my good friend and neighbor Tom. He was the one that shot the deer. He used an old 308. Today I went out in all the severe wind we were getting.....saw a spike and four doe. At least the luck is hanging on, I hate not seeing anything. |

http://tinypic.com/u33x2 This the second buck out of the Tower Of Power. (its a forty foot tower built out of fout electric poles and built with bucket trucks. Helps when your a lineman for allegheny power) This one I shot he is a eight point. We think this is his first set of antlers. But I couldnt resist.....he looked alittle bigger in the scope at 258 yards!!! One shot one kill with my old savage 30-06. Now its my daughters turn to bag a buck. And we all have two doe tags that will help fill the freezer!! |
