Will be traveling to Tucson. Next month for the GSSF match and would appreciate input from those familiar with the area on a decent hotel. Close
To the range would be nice (Tucson rifle club three points). The map on the GSSF web site indicates the range is about 20+ miles away from Tucson itself

I like the Lowes Resort and Westin. Not sure how close they are to your event, but they are nice hotels with good service.

Best hotel on that side of town is the JW Marriott Star Pass.  It's still probably about 45 minutes from Three Points, but it's probably the best you're going to find.

ETA:  When you map out the trip from the hotel to the range, the route that takes Gates Pass is a more scenic drive than Ajo road.  The Gates Pass way also avoids more of the rough part of town.  SW side is pretty high crime, so I wouldn't leave anything of value in the car.  Hotel you should be okay if you use their parking garage, but I wouldn't risk it.  If I remember correctly the JW isn't very 2A friendly, so don't be obvious with your firearms.  That said I believe BP has people stay there sometimes, because I ran into several plain clothes guys carrying their duty weapons.

As others have said, that side of town keeps LE pretty busy.

Star Pass is the nicest hotel closest to Three Points.

Closer to town and "nicer" areas of the city, such as around the UA campus (area of Speedway and Campbell)  have more hotel choices that would probably meet your needs for the match. That area puts you probably about an hour or so from TRC depending on traffic.

My wife and I stay at the Hilton El Conquistador almost every Fourth of July down there. We really enjoy it. My family has been going there regularly since even before I was born.

+1 for the hotel at Del Sol.  Head West on Valencia from the casino and it will spit you out onto Ajo right at Ryan Airfield.  That way you miss the construction BS.  The range is like 20 minutes from the casino, less if you drive like I do.

Trouble is ( correct me if I am wrong) are not casinos on Indian territory where possession of firearms for non Indians is a no go? At least that is what they told us in my ccw class

My hunting buddy and I meet in the parking lot all the time for day hunts.  Be discreet and you won't have a problem.

I believe it varies by tribe.  If my memory serves the Pascuas aren't very 2A friendly.  I've never stayed at Del Sol but I've been there for friend's birthdays a couple of times and didn't love the atmosphere.  I'm not a casino fan though and I watched too much Longmire so my opinion is biased against Indian casinos.

Went with star pass Marriott. Just didn’t want to take a chance with the Indian territory. Thanks for the help. Anyway else attending the match?

This is closer to UofA, but.. "The Arizona Inn" is a perfect old school AZ nice place to stay. During the summer, rooms are pretty cheap, but if you needed an excuse to go away with your lady-friend for a weekend, it's great. Really quiet, the dining room is great, the pools are nice, and there are good restaurants nearby.
