Been away for quite a while. So figured my first post back would be a fun one. Anyone here have any hunts this fall or have gotten their big game? Or any luck on recent small game hunts? I LOVE ME SOME PICS!!! I been pretty lame with just training so haven't hunted much besides one dove morning. Attachment Attached File

Got eight doves on opening weekend. Due to my work schedule I might be eating my first ever elk tag later on this year. I didn't buy Point Guard either.

Elk are screaming pretty good. Called in this small bull. Maybe around 300" being a small 6x7. I've glassed up 7 bears this week. I have 2 good sized bears on my hit list right now. Can't wait for Oct 6th to come!

Did you ever end up buying one of those elk tags for the 12's and 13's?  Do any scouting in those areas?

Wow. That's awesome.

What part of the Rim were you around? I spend at least a month total in that area throughout the year. I've run into a half dozen bears or so there over the past year. I'm usually in slightly more human populated areas, though.

Alright guys, where are the elk pics?  We have to have some members that have filled their tags by now.  A friend and his wife both got cows in 7W this week.

I need to get out and beat up some birds when work calms down a bit.

OP, that's crazy you saw that many bears. I've only seen two, with a lot of time behind binos as well. One I ran into in 4A, the other I watched demolish our garbage can at the family place up north, literally 10mins after I set it out on the road for pickup.

Yeah I ended up missing an absolute monster of a bear and then passed up a small bear on the last day I could hunt. Now I have to wait till next yr

Badass seeing a bear tear shit up tho! Even tho it was trash that was just put out ha Bears are so freaking cool!

WHERE ARE ALL THE HUNTERS????? Gotta be something killed lol

I spent all week looking for Elk in 6A, only to prove once again that a 4-legged ungulate is smarter than I am.

My son was up there too.... he spent most of the last day of season packing one out, 2.5 miles from camp!

Thanks! He scored just over 125 inches based on my calculations. Not a giant but I’d shoot him again

had a terrible deer hunt this year.  No idea how it happened but my scope verticle adjustment got buggered up somehow. missed two deer at less than 100 yeards. sitting shot.  First one i was like hmmm thats weird. second one i was like no fucking way.

decided to double check my zero. shot a croup of five prone and at 25 yards the bullet was grouping 3 inches high.  So i was shooting way over the deer at around 100 yards with 7mm remmag.

adjusted it back to zero in a few shots.  then shot another group of five and between 1-5 the shot worked its way down 2 inches low.

Time for a new scope.
no deer for me

Tag soup this weekend on that 5B late rifle bull hunt. Saw six bulls but they wouldn't stay still for longer than a few seconds.

6B elk rifle.  Missed one moving fast between the trees at 80-90 yards.  Think I shot in front of him

But my dad got a nice sized 4x5 so at least there will be meat in the freezer.

That supermoon really f@cked things up.

Went duck hunting for the first time this season.  My buddy and I got a few mallards.  There aren't many birds in our area yet.
