[ARCHIVED THREAD] - More Scorpions?

Seems like this year is bringing more scorpions into the house. No construction near me. Nothing new going on. 5th one in 2 weeks we have killed (or the cats have killed).

Anyone else notice this?

Typical year at our place.

We keep them out of our house by hunting the outside of the house every weekend with a UV light.
Other people put down poison around the house, but that kills everything.
I only kill the scorpions because I like the tarantulas around the house and yard.

We had another thread on this earlier in the season. I have seen a lot less this year, but as always YMMV. In past years, the monsoon rains have brought them out so maybe that is your issue?

Yeah but no rain here yet. Baffled why more this year. Oh well. I have 5 cats so usually find corpses anyway. Just wondered if this was a bumper crop year.
