I am an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistol, and also a RSO. Do I need to register with the AZDPS or other agency to teach towards an AZ CCW Permit? Ican't seem to find a lot of information on this, but I am pretty tired tonight and need investigate more but I thought I would ask here.
I moved here from Iowa and was a full time Instructor there for 6 years. I went well above the min. req. and didn't just give the standard NRA course. I was also instrumental in getting the Shall Issue law passed there in 2010. Hopefully they can someday move towards Constitutional Carry like here. |

All of my instructors are of course NRA certified. Then they have all passed Mas Ayoobs MAG 40, MAG 80, and his Advanced Instructor Class that is heavily geared toward the law that is based on his books and the Larry Hickey case that was in Tucson. Then all attended Tom Givens advanced instructor class either one I sponsored or the one at Quantico. Next everyone has attended and passed the Gunsite 250 course. However we teach advanced classes both on Post (Ft. H) and for Pima County Parks and Rec.
I'm planning to sponsor Mas again in March of 18 and Tom Givens again and will let instructors throughout AZ and New Mexico know. Our website is gatorfarmtactical.com. |

Hopefully someone helpful comes along with the answers, but I don't have them. If all else fails, I'd call up DPS on Monday. Good luck. |

If you are a current NRA Instructor, you will need to provide each student with a certificate with your NRA # on it, and you can get all of the applications and paperwork from AZ DPS at no charge. More info here: http://www.azdps.gov/services/public/cwp - look under the Instructor Information section. |
