Any have experience with electronic rat traps?  Roof rat season is approaching and I want to be ready this year. Because of pets, poison is not an option and I catch more birds than rats, not to mention smashing my fingers, with large mechanical traps.

There seems to be numerous model options but I'd like to hit it right the first time as they're not cheap. Recommendations would be appreciated.

They don't work, in my experience.  We have at least a dozen at work in what can only be described as deer mouse infested areas, as AFAIK, they have never caught a single one.

Nothing beats glue traps or the good ol' fashioned mouse trap we all saw on Warner Bros cartoons.

I have a rat zapper that was $50.  I have caught at least 100 roof rats with it.  Peanut butter is the bait that has worked the best.  Just gotta check them daily.

Too bad they don't make a larger one for Demorats.
