A few friends of mine and I are interested, just checking to see if anyone had anything good or bad to say about it. https://scottsdalegunclub.com/classes/carbine-1.html $89 for nonmembers, two nights : 1730-2000 200 rds Instructor Jerod Johnson profile is here, seems legit. Sounds like a intro/basic level class. Price is reasonable. If it fits your schedule, couldn't hurt to take it. You can always follow on with a class from Independence Training. |

Jerod is a legit dude. We contracted for the same company in the past, he worked the training division (HDSOC), and I've taken some of his pistol courses. He's a friend of some of the SMEs on the LE side of the house. STA used to be out at Cowtown, 2013ish for sure but not sure when they left it (was before IT started using it I'm pretty sure). Stand up dude all around, enjoyed learning some things from him.
My take: If you're looking for an INTRO course then it's probably worth the time and money, especially since it should be indoors (hot and humid out these days). If you're looking for an intermediate - advanced course, this won't be it. Contact STA or IT (Rizzo) to see what they have coming up for that. |
