I don't know how you folks deal with it every day.
I had the displeasure of having to go to North Phoenix today, and man it's a freakin circus.

From the 60 to the 101 it was unbelievable the stupid on the road.

Distracted drivers that can't put the damn cell phone down and drive, some stupid girl almost hit us, then over corrected and glanced off the center barrier, saw at least 4 other near misses, and every one was due to texting

Next time I have to go up there, I'm taking one of my trucks and the heck with saving gas!

It all depends on the direction... and in the grand scheme of things compared to other traffic in the country.. this is nothing.  It really is not bad until someone jacks it up via accident.. solo or multi car.

I've always figured this is what happens when a bunch of people from different states all move to the same place. Driving styles don't mix. Add in a bunch for snowbirds and this is what you get

Plus people are just stupid.

That's why I work 5:30 - 2, much fewer idiots on the road, 80 in the HOV pretty much the whole way.

I just moved here and I love the traffic

But I was born and raised in Chicago and our highways have certain areas where they are bumper to bumper 24 hours a day so by comparison, driving around phoenix is like being in a rocket ship.

I remember when 5-6 other vehicles in your view while driving on I-17 mid day was considered heavy traffic.

Rush hour sucks.

And idiots who use their phone while driving are the worst.

But to be honest, I dislike driving around places like Gilbert more.

Outside of rush hour, I'm doing 75 on the freeways.

Gilbert tries to have this smallish town type feel but every half mike there is a huge intersection. I can't freakin drive more than a mile without stopping.

And it feels like I drive 50 miles just to run errands. It's so draining.

I hate Gilbert.   I can't wait to move to Anthem or Cave Creek.

It's not really that bad, I mean, living in LA for most of my life and working in DC....Well....

Everyone likes to bitch about the road system in Tucson and the lack of expressways but Phoenix and the surrounding valley has 'em and the traffic is still worse.

Traffic is one of the top reasons I hate going to Phoenix.  If I need to go I either find someone else to do the driving or pick a time of day when the traffic is moderate (at least by Phoenix standards).

I live in Prescott - I despise going to PHX mainly because the traffic sucks big time (well, I also hate the heat).

I dread every time I have to drive to that motor-vehicle-hell-on-wheels place!

I'm glad you all can put up with it down there or else you'd all be up here......

That right there in red. Now that I don't need to go to Cabelas since we've got a Sportsmen Warhouse, I will never need to go to Phoenix ever again unless it's the SAR Show.

People are just too crazy there. Hell with using signals and all that rushing just to get ahead of one person just to slow down and start the leap frogging of egos because assholes are always colliding with each other. Learn some patience already and have some consideration of other drivers

I live b on the west side and traffic isn't THAT bad.  But holy Jesus.  East side sucks ass.  Everyone wants to go 100 mph and there are 10+ accidents a day on the freeways alone over there.

I commuted from the Carefree Highway to the airport for two years...on a motorcycle haha. I came to the conclusion that people on the 17 seem more retarded than those on the 51, snowbirds paralyze the highways, and the whole fucking planet thinks they should be in the left lane. Biggest offenders: lifted trucks (sorry guys) and anything with rims worth more than the car. Oh, and landscapers.

besides it really isn't the driving, it's about the narcissistic fucktards, the Facebook generation, that brings their "it's all about me" attitude everywhere they go.

Done with that shit now, and won't do it again.

It's not that bad. Even Portland was WAY worse.

I live in Catalina and work in Oro Valley and I work night shift so I never deal with traffic anymore. 15min to work and 10min home.

100 miles a day here...

It's not that bad, it's just that the valley is a really big place.
